OTTER MOON has shown significant improvement on his last couple of starts and a reproduction of either of those efforts would make the five-year-old very hard to beat. Blue Comet is rated 5lb superior to the selection but may be slightly flattered by that mark, although he does have solid place claims nevertheless. Special Prep won twice in the point-to-point field prior to finishing third in a bumper here last month and is also considered.

Plenty of these arrive here in good form but none more so than CAMILLAS WISH, who won her fourth race in a row a Cartmel last week. That was over fences but her two previous victories came over hurdles and a mark of 105 may still underestimate her. Onlyfoolsownhorses is another who has recorded multiple wins in recent months, while Spoils Of War won well over C&D in May. Dont Tell Val and Mrsrobin are others who have to feature on the shortlist.

AMILLIONTIMES found only one too good in a similar event over C&D in May and rates the one to beat on that performance. Aminabad was not disgraced when fourth in a decent enough event at Aintree last month and has an each-way chance if running to a similar level of form this afternoon. Admirable veteran Sergeant Pink is another who has won over C&D recently and commands respect as he appears on a workable mark at present.

HENPECKED has been in very solid form on the Flat recently, finishing runner-up on her last two outings at Newcastle, and has every chance of improving on her handicap debut over timber. Bahrikate boasts solid form at the track and is respected on his return from a 50-day absence, while Broughtons Star commands respect for Gordon Elliott, who enjoys his summer trips to this venue, with Richard Johnson an eyecatching booking.

Deauville Dancer arrives here in search of a hat-trick but he could have reached his ceiling now handed a 12lb rise for his wide-margin win at Newton Abbott last time. Noche De Reyes has been knocking on the door and should also be thereabouts, though preferred ahead of both is Rebecca Menzies' VODKA WELLS, who has been in fine form since joining the Sedgefield handler and could return to winning ways with Brian Hughes back in the saddle.

A 10lb rise seems fair for VERCINGETORIX's Hexham romp last time as he obliterated the field by 15 lengths. He could be capable of defying his revised perch and rates the one to beat while bidding to notch a cross-code hat-trick. Gold Chain missed out on her own treble last time but it would come as no surprise to see her bounce back at a course she thrives at. My Mo has been in rude health on the level and is another to consider.

Gordon Elliott often thrives at this venue during the summer months and his ARIZONA BOUND can make amends for his neck defeat here last time and go one better in the hands of champion jockey Richard Johnson. Former Godolphin charge Strong Team has disappointed in bumpers so far but is entitled to improve now fitted with a hood and with Brian Hughes taking over in the saddle, while winning pointer Grageelagh Girl is another to consider.
