The consistent EMILY LOVE broke her hurdling duck in no uncertain terms at Limerick last month and Gordon Elliott's mare should be a tough nut to crack on these terms. Hexham scorer Late Night Drama has far less to prove than many and is the clear danger, although bumper winner Moonbow, who makes his debut over timber, should not be dismissed.
The consistent EMILY LOVE gained a deserved victory last time and is expected to follow up under a penalty. The form of her penultimate run has been franked and leaves her 10lb clear of her nearest rival Late Night Drama. That rival caused a shock when beating a previous winner last time and will appreciate this stiff track. She will provide the biggest challenge along with point and bumper winner Moonbow.

JET PATROL travelled strongly into contention, but had been too keen earlier in the contest to see out 2m2f at Kelso a fortnight ago. The eight-year-old could build on that promising effort now dropped to 2m. Away She Goes finished a place in front of the selection when third in that event and looks an obvious threat given her current form, while Gonnino is also noted.
An open race where it may be worth chancing handicap debutant GONNINO who caught the eye on his penultimate start where he finished well under tender handling. He then chased home a progressive rival over C&D last time and is entitled to be competitive back at this stiff venue off a lenient mark. Away She Goes arrives in terrific form and may be the biggest danger given her latest run where she did plenty early is worth marking up. Just Dottie made it two C&D successes on the trot last month and must be respected with Sean Bowen aboard once again, but preference is for the unexposed THE LAST CLOUD. A facile winner of a maiden over track and trip, he enters handicaps from a seemingly fair mark and it would come as no great surprise were he to find further progress. Simple Star can chase the pair home.
THE LAST CLOUD benefitted from a more positive ride over C&D last time and can follow up on his handicap debut. He is well treated on his last couple of runs particularly his penultimate effort where he was given a very considerate ride. Dual purpose performer Trailblazer has been in good form over hurdles and it's worth marking up his latest run where he went too fast. He could prove the biggest threat ahead of veteran Mack The Man who has dropped a fair way in the weights and hinted at a revival last time.

Despite not jumping with fluency, SCHMILSSON justified favouritism readily over track and trip last month and is just 7lb higher. Olly Murphy's six-year-old makes only his second start over fences and could have lots more to offer. Salamanca Bay occupied the runner-up berth at Worcester and the booking of Brian Hughes catches the eye on his debut for a new stable. Last-time-out Hexham scorer Dream Jet is another to note.
Impossible to get away from SCHMILSSON who couldn't have been much more impressive here on chase debut and remains well treated on his best hurdle form. He can account for the consistent Dream Jet who benefitted from a much better ride last time and will enjoy this stiffer track. Salamanca Bay was given too much to do last time but arrives in good form and could complete the tricast.

STANS THE MAN completed a double by 12 lengths over an extended 3m3f at Stratford last week and a 9lb rise might underestimate the authority he showed that day. If the eight-year-old remains in similar form, he will prove hard to beat again. Riaan took the silver medal home in a Grade 3 handicap at the Punchestown Festival and commands the utmost respect for the Gordon Elliott team. Young Buster looks best of the rest.
Statuario took this contest last year off 2lb lower and is closely matched fellow veteran Annsam on their recent meeting here. The pair were beaten by a progressive rival that day and have dropped to very attractive marks so ought to go close. However the pair may be vulnerable to the unexposed BALLINTUBBER BOY who is yet to win over fences but was only out-battled late last time by a well handicapped rival. The form of his debut runner up effort has been franked emphatically and he is open to plenty of improvement now handicapping so he gets the verdict in an open race.

IMPERIAL ALEX filled the runner-up spot in a stronger event at Uttoxeter on his most recent start and the handicapper might have been kind to only put him up 1lb. With a similar effort, he could be the one to beat. Hardy Diamond finished second at Kilbeggan last time and makes her first start in a handicap over fences so she has to be considered. Glen Cannel is another to keep an eye on.
HARDY DIAMOND is the least exposed in the field and looks open to plenty of improvement now handicapping. She left her previous chase form behind when runner up to an in form rival last time shaping as if this step up in trip would be of benefit. The booking of Bowen signals intent and she can get the better of course regular Wasdell Dundalk who should be much fitter for his recent hurdles spin. That rival has dropped below his last winning mark and looks the biggest threat ahead of the steadily progressive Can't Beat History whose winning run was only ended by a course specialist last time.

Having found only a subsequent winner too strong on his handicap bow over 2m4f at Ffos Las last month, THE FLYING POET makes plenty of appeal off an unchanged mark. The extra half-mile should suit the son of Milan and a first career victory could be imminent. Man Of Action opened his account at Hexham and a 5lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold bid. Gary Rutherford's charge is feared most, ahead of Donso Star.

Happy Index notched a fourth victory over hurdles when landing the spoils here last month and she's sure to prove popular in her follow-up bid. However, Olly Murphy's mare could be worth taking on off a career-high mark with TRUE DESTINY. OUR GIRL SAL needed every yard to get up off a steady pace last time having met trouble and is taken to continue her progress here with a stronger gallop likely. Happy Index was worth a bit more than the winning margin last time after idling in front so is feared most for a top trainer/jockey combination. Tartan Cookie was unsuited by a change of tactics on his follow up attempt last time but if resuming positive handling he can hold on for a place.
