Gordon Elliott's recent Tipperary winner CARRIE DES CHAMPS returns to the scene of her two impressive bumper victories last summer looking to add to that initial hurdles success. Fellow Irish raider Lily's Gem may provide the main opposition and has some useful hurdles form, while Bialco ran with credit in a competitive Punchestown Festival handicap and could have a part to play back in novice company.

Irish raider Sunsetstorise must be respected for Gordon Elliott but it may be worth chancing impressive 16-length Sedgefield winner QUEST FOR LIFE following up off his revised mark, which could have been worse. The consistent Copper West is another to note, while Diablo De Rouhet is worth a market check on his first outing for Nicky Henderson.

LADY SAMBACK made it back-to-back victories when getting her head in front over course and distance last time and the in-from seven-year-old could continue her progress receiving weight from all of her rivals. Green Zone is another in good order of late and was an emphatic winner here two starts ago. Golden Jeffrey was second on that occasion, but could get closer with Bruce Lynn claiming 7lb in the saddle this time, while Sleepy Haven and Royal Reserve are others to note.

CAIUS MARCIUS romped to a 21-length victory in a similar contest at Sedgefield last time and Nicky Richards' eight-year-old, who is lightly raced over fences, could have plenty more to offer in this sphere. Gordon Elliott's raider Global Jackpot is yet to match the best of his hurdles form over the larger obstacles, though he has twice been successful here over timber, while Nietzsche is another useful hurdler who may thrive now sent chasing.

16:25 Perth (Class 2) (5YO plus)

GET OUT THE GATE is rated 134 over hurdles but he's already rated 8lb superior over fences after winning on both starts over the larger obstacles, including in a novice contest over track and trip last month. Jim Goldie's charge jumped well on the latter occasion and could have better to offer. The consistent Got Away has viable place claims, likewise Red Giant, who has been raised 8lb for scoring over C&D in April, and Indian Temple, who was outpaced over 2m4f at Aintree latest and could appreciate this stiffer test.

DARLING MISS took a clear step forward when picking up the silver medal at Tipperary last month and although she must run off a higher UK mark now crossing the Irish Sea, she's rated low enough that she's still expected to show up well. Presence Felt picked up minor money over C&D last time and is the one expected to put up most resistance, while there could also be a big run on the cards from Always Tipsy on his return to the smaller obstacles.

7

17:30 Perth (Class 4) (4YO to 6YO)

Strathearn Standard Open NH Flat Race

Irish raider SHANROE left a favourable impression when landing a bumper under a penalty at Sedgefield last time and rates the one to beat. Keen On is the one expected to put up most resistance as he receives weight from the selection, is a half-brother to four NH winners and represents a powerful stable who can ready a newcomer. La Chanteuse is another newcomer to monitor for a stable that do well with their bumper debutants.
