Summer Special has put in some useful efforts and should go close while Lahib The Fifth was a good winner of a bumper and can do well on his hurdling debut. BUTTRESS has put in two improved performances of late and wasn't far away at Huntingdon last time. He looks on the upgrade and should be good enough to win this.
After two pillar-to-post victories over 2m here, KID'Z'PLAY steps up in trip but can be taken to complete his hat-trick and maintain his unbeaten record over fences. He likes to dominate from the front and with his two big dangers here, Native Coral and Manoubi, both hold-up horses, he should have things all his own way.
Poor Tactic's won over 2m here in May but fell at the first next time out and doesn't look the most trustworthy. This should mainly concern Tandava and BROOKLYN BROWNIE. The former is on a hat-trick but steps up in grade today. The selection has won in this grade and run second twice. He should just have the edge here.
Cumbrian Knight won a beginners' chase at Hexham but looks to have plenty on his plate off his handicap mark. Risky Way has won twice this season but is up another 7lb in the weights, which might give SUPER DOLPHIN, less than three lengths behind last time and 5lb better off, the chance to break his duck over fences.
Another Deckie is up 7lb for his Musselburgh win and may struggle. Nowator is in form over fences but is up 12lb on his winning hurdle mark while Royal Glen, twice a winner this season, was well beaten off her current mark. KYLE OF LOCHALSH, a recent Flat winner, put in his best hurdles effort over C&D and is in the mood now to score here.
Hexham winner Ben Britten is up 8lb and may struggle now. Cheery Martyr, a winner here over 2m4f, has claims on her handicap debut but it's worth taking a chance here on THEPUBHORSE, who turned in his best performance by far when second at Hexham last month. This step-up in trip should suit him and he may go one better today.
Irish raider ROSSCLARE has put in a couple of good efforts in bumpers - one here - but raced too freely for his own good on his hurdling debut and tired in heavy going at Cartmel. He'll know much more about it today and can make his long trip pay off. The improving Constable Burton looks the one for the forecast.
