NEXT EXIT returned from a long absence with a creditable effort to take second in a Ffos Las maiden last month and, open to plenty more improvement around this trip, is taken to find the improvement necessary to score. On Broadway has been failing to maintain his challenge all the way to the line in two runs over 2m but has winning point-to-point form over 3m so cannot be ruled out now upped in trip with less emphasis on speed. First-time blinkers may elicit some improvement from Donald McCain's Hurraboru, who completes the shortlist.
Next Exit can make the long trip from South Wales worthwhile by taking this modest event for his in-form yard, with Hurraboru (representing another stable in the winners) the main challenger now stepped up in trip. On Broadway looks best of the rest.

BLAZIN WHITE FACE made a favourable impression when recording a comfortable track and trip victory on her chase debut last month and would take all of the beating, despite a subsequent 8lb rise, if capable of building upon that effort. The list of dangers is headed by Freddie Brown, who battled on well into second over 2m1f at Kelso latest and is a potential improver over further. It is unlikely we've seen the best of Rob Conti yet and Philip Hobbs' charge also merits shortlist inclusion on what is only his second chase outing.
Blazin White Face made a winning start over fences here last month and can follow up despite an 8 lb rise. Stonethrower and Rob Conti also shaped well on their chase debuts and are feared most.

LORD REDSGIRTH landed a 2m5f handicap here in April and now drops back in trip after getting turned over at odds-on in a 3m novices' chase. Jason Maguire could put his stamina to good use and make this a proper test at the trip and, on these terms, Gordon Elliott's representative rates the one to beat. Kai Broon is another that will benefit from a return to the minimum trip after weakening close home over 2m2f at Cartmel, but of more interest is last-time-out Fakenham scorer Sublime Talent.
Lord Redsgirth is the form pick and probably should have won here over 3m last time, but this marked drop in trip isn't bound to suit, so Kai Broon is selected instead. Sublime Talent is the only credible threat to the pair.

Urban Kode has bits and pieces of placed form around this trip and is unlikely to be far away while last-time-out Kelso scorer Stags Leap is respected even though raised 5lb subsequently. Preferred ahead of both, however, is BENLUNA, who opened his account at the 14th attempt at Hexham last month and remains feasibly weighted in his bid to follow up off 7lb higher. Noble Scholar has claims on the pick of his best efforts and is also considered.
Lucinda Russell looks to hold a strong hand here, with Lucky Sunny and Navy List both interesting runners. The latter appeals as the type to do better now handicapping but a chance is taken on Lucky Sunny improving on his first start for the yard. Recent Kelso scorer Stags Leap also makes the shortlist.

Preference is for MUMBLES HEAD who, despite his advancing years, is thriving at present and backed up his Market Rasen victory with a wide-margin victory over track and trip last time. Shoegazer, Auroras Encore, Zitenka amd Fairoak Lad all arrive in good heart and are others to consider in a wide-open heat.
A fiercely competitive event with little to separate the principal contenders. Marginal preference is for Auroras Encore, who is versatile regards trip/ground and a 7 lb rise for his narrow defeat to Merigo in the Scottish National last time looks fair. Fairoak Lad and Mumbles Head are just 2 of the many dangers.

The six-year-old displayed improvement that day, when third behind two nice types, and the booking of Timmy Murphy suggest connections remain confident. Piper Hill also warrants respect for the potent McCain/Maguire combination, while Our Joey is also of interest.
Piper Hill has a penalty to overcome but it would be no surprise to see him pull out more on his first start for Donald McCain, and he gets the nod over Cosmic Wonder and Our Joey.
