Verdict

Peter Bowen has travelled 373 miles from Wales, and GRAND SLAM HERO can make the trip worthwhile in this contest and can follow-up his 11 length romp over Sea Map at Worcester earlier this month. Newbay Lady drops back in trip from her Wetherby success when finishing ahead of Sir Rowland Hill. She has to defy a penalty for that success, while Guerilla steps back up to the trip he won over at Wetherby on his penultimate start and could be a big danger.

Verdict

Market Rasen scorer TOULOUSE EXPRESS finished ahead of Dalriath who has since scored at Cartmel, and a follow-up here could be on the cards for Bob Johnson's charge. Sun King finished second over C&D in April, behind Lennon, and may go one better here while Diane Sayer's Front Rank finished fourth in that race and he can't be ruled out despite the conditions being on the quick side for him.

Verdict

BROOKLYN BROWNIE got his chasing career off to a flyer when defeating Topinambour last month at Hexham. This race is tougher, but he has a 100 per cent strike rate here and is fancied to keep that up. The Biker got the better of Howard Johnson's Iron Man over 2m on this course latest. He prefers more testing conditions but can't be ruled out, while Red Man has to be respected as he returns to fences after a disappointing effort over hurdles at Cartmel.
