DANTES KING can get punters off to a flyer in the opener. Gordon Elliott's charge exploited a mark of 131 in a course handicap over fences 10 days ago and should prove too good reverting to novice hurdling if that good form can be transferred. Fontwell winner Experimentalist has to concede 7lb, but Tim Vaughan's inmate must enter calculations nevertheless. Ocean Club and Bella Montagna complete the quartet but look set to fight it out for minor honours.

KIAN'S DELIGHT finished third in a fair novice event at Newton Abbot when last sighted and he sets the standard. Rated 132 over fences, the Fakenham winner is fancied to successfully concede weight to these rivals as he should be suited by the step up in trip. Best Served Cold brings some useful hurdles form to the table and is shortlisted sporting the first-time tongue tie, while Rhymers Ha' unseated Graham Watters when sent off favourite at Hexham last time and he's worth another look.

GREEN LIGHTNING is very tough to oppose in this sort of form and Peter Bowen's hat-trick seeking Montjeu gelding looks set to grace the winner's enclosure once more. The six-year-old bolted up when shouldering a 7lb penalty over C&D 10 days ago and, while handed a huge hike in the ratings, can go from strength to strength in an average-looking handicap. Philip Kirby has his string in good nick so Everaard is given an each-way chance, along with bottom weight Feisty Lass.

FALCARRAGH hasn't been seen in competitive action for 212 days but should be able to break his duck. The Wexford bumper winner is yet to encounter ground this quick in 10 career starts but a combination of this drop into maiden company and the step up in trip should do the trick. Goal looks the main danger but will have to step up on his latest Bellewstown effort to land the spoils, while the unexposed Uttoxeter third Definite Maybe is also worthy of a mention.

Three last-time-out winners go to post but it's Hexham runner-up TWILL STAND TO US who makes most appeal. The lightly-raced Beneficial gelding steps into the handicap ranks for the first time and he numbered useful form yardsticks Toledo Gold and Grey Soldier among his victims at the Northumberland venue last time. Hodgson is up 7lb for his Ffos Las success last month and he should be able to make his presence felt, along with Lord Of Drums, who was seen exploiting a 5lb lower mark over the 2m here last time.

MOMKINZAIN has won his last two and should be able to complete the hat-trick off this 5lb higher mark. Craig Nichol can claim 8lb in this conditional jockeys' handicap and the Rahy gelding looked to score with something up his sleeve when a comfortable three-length winner last time. Pete and Parson's Punch are the other two C&D winners in this field but Born To Shine hinted a drop in distance may suit before coming to grief at the last at Hexham last month and he's feared most.

The market is expected to tell us more about Henllan Harri on his racecourse debut for shrewd connections and a positive move would inspire confidence with Richard Johnson booked. This looks between Cloudy Joker and DEFINITE ROW, though, and Gordon Elliott's charge gets the nod in receipt of 2lb. His Definite Article filly arrives race-fit and wasn't beaten far when second over the C&D 10 days ago. Donald McCain's point winner cannot be overlooked, however, and he's expected to show more than at Gowran in March.
