CHAMP has been unlucky to bump into two highly-promising sorts the last twice and could make a winning return to action here for Nicky Henderson and Nico De Boinville. His neck second to Sidney Banks winner Vinndication last time rates as serious form, and this six-year-old will take all the beating. Court Dreaming looks open to improvement after just one bumper start, while Storm Nelson is another name to consider for each-way purposes.

ALIZEE DE JANEIRO was far from disgraced at Musselburgh last time out and could have too much for these rivals now dropped in class and distance for Lucinda Russell, who landed this prize back in 2015. A mark of 105 back over fences looks favourable compared to his hurdles mark and he can account for Dakota Grey, who might just need softer ground than this. Fit For Fifty had his excuses for a poor showing last time and could bounce back.

BAHRIKATE didn't get very far when badly hampered and unseating her rider early on over C&D last month but she remains open to improvement and can make amends here in what looks a very winnable contest. Hidden Dilemma warrants respect on her handicap debut for the Stuart Crawford team, while Hot Gossip represents last year's winning trainer and looks capable of better.

ORIONINVERNESS should have the measure of his rivals if recapturing the form which saw him absolutely bolt up at Newcastle two starts ago. He proved that wasn't a fluke when running creditably back up to this trip at Hexham latest and another bold showing looks assured. Gibbstown put in an improved display at Hexham last time, finishing in front of the selection, but needs to prove that was no flash in the pan (hasn't won since 2016), so Onderun rates as the main danger.

Shanaway warrants plenty of respect following his runner-up finish over 2m4f at the track, while Border Victor continues to knock on the door and is likely to be in the shake-up again. However, from the top of the weights, it might pay to side with COCKLEY BECK. The six-year-old daughter of Westerner could potentially improve for stepping up in trip and having first-time cheekpieces equipped, while the booking of Brian Hughes is a big plus.

Despite being 11 years of age, MILL FORGE has very few miles on the clock and he showed a liking for this venue when scoring gamely over 2m4f last month. This longer trip is unlikely to pose any problems and he is fancied to defy a 6lb rise. Wyfield Rose has two C&D wins under her belt already and ran well off a 1lb higher mark than this last time, while Maraweh, Jet Master and Native Optimist are others to keep an eye on.

MENDIP EXPRESS looked on good terms with himself when romping to a wide-margin success at Hexham in April and rates the one to beat again here. Cultram Abbey left a favourable impression when winning over C&D last time and is the one expected to put up most resistance. The pick of the remainder may be course winner Double Whammy, who is a potential improver now fitted with a first-time visor.
