ENZANI has some reasonable form in the book and looks tough to oppose under Richard Johnson for the first time. Deemed good enough to run in a valuable Galway handicap when last seen, this looks much easier and his connections will be disappointed if he cannot land the odds. Uluroo seemed to like switching to hurdles at Hexham last month and deserves plenty of respect, while Mr Grumpy caught the eye here three weeks ago and looks to have a future in this discipline.

Paul Nicholls does very well with his select runners here (4-9 in the last five years) and RAINY CITY looks more than capable of landing such a contest. Down the field at Kempton in February, he is likely to relish this drop in class and a first try at 3m also looks beneficial for the seven-year-old. Tara Mist was deemed good enough to run in a Listed race at Cheltenham four weeks ago and has to be considered as the main danger, well ahead of Irish raider Baby Bach.

Onlyfoolsownhorses was an impressive winner on his handicap debut at Carlisle a week ago and an unchanged mark will make him a very popular betting proposition for local punters, while Motion To Strike travelled well here recently and deserves respect under Brian Hughes once more. Preference, however, is for RONALDINHO, who remains on an attractive mark of 86 for Dianne Sayer and looked threatening here last month. Pretty Miss Mahler can prove best of the remainder.

DOUBLEDISDOUBLEDAT has been found a real opening against these rivals and if over his mishap at Kelso last month, he could be the one they all have to beat. Sent off favourite that day, the 10-year-old led until he blundered and unseated his rider at the seventh fence. The son of Vinnie Roe had performed admirably in defeat at Market Rasen the time before and gets the nod here ahead of Dutch Canyon and Shaiyzar.

Call The Cops hasn't been the same horse since the 2014/15 season when he won the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival. As a result, he is beginning to look very well handicapped now in the hands of Ben Haslam, but you're taking a leap of faith and RAISE A SPARK appeals more as a consistent performer who hasn't finished outside of the first four home in his last six outings. Caius Marcius and Weapon Of Choice are also noted.

LOU VERT let down his supporters at this venue when last seen at the Perth Festival but can make amends now with a step up in trip set to suit and a first victory for the Paul Nicholls-trained youngster could be on the horizon. Stuart Crawford's Dr Moloney is a regular raider to the Scottish course and can figure with Richard Johnson renewing the partnership, while fellow Irish challenger Captain Hox also comes under consideration.

WORK DU BRETEAU was an impressive scorer last time at Bangor and he is expected to take the drop in trip and 9lb rise from the handicapper in his stride here. Urban Kode let down favourite backers last time but can't be discounted here and is one of two in the race for Grand National-winning trainer Lucinda Russell along with Thorpe, who is not without a chance. Tekthelot can also play a part only 1lb higher than when winning at Cartmel and can improve on his second start for Nicky Richards.
