AMENON was unable to justify favouritism when runner-up at Wincanton last month but, having pulled well clear of the rest that day, the seven-year-old looks the one to beat. Salvino has undergone a wind operation since finishing second to the useful Drumbear at Musselburgh back in January and he warrants respect, while Gordon Elliott's Laffite, who made an encouraging hurdling debut at Wexford last time, is another to note.

The Irish raider Shantou Lucky won with more in hand than the bare margin would suggest at Clonmel last time and he should make a bold bid here. However, it is hard to look past LAKOTA WARRIOR, who produced an excellent round of jumping when scoring easily on his chasing debut at Doncaster last month. Torigni is back over fences and can do best of the rest.

The strong-travelling Sao suffered ill luck when brought down at Ayr earlier this month and the eight-year-old, who has proved adept in small fields in the past, is one to consider. However, the unexposed COACH CARTER ran an excellent race when upped in grade at the same venue last time and looks the strongest candidate. Arvico Bleu is unexposed for his current yard and can also figure.

COMPLETE UNKNOWN might be that bit fresher than Mahler Mission and The Goffer, who both lined up at last month's Cheltenham Festival, and the impressive Grade 3 Sandown scorer shades the verdict in a small but competitive event. Going back up in trip shouldn't bother the six-year-old, who remains open to further improvement. Galia Des Liteaux is the least exposed of these and warrants respect, while Famous Bridge certainly isn't out of it either.

With the form of Venetia Williams' stable a worry, ZAMBELLA could reverse last-time-out Cheltenham Festival form with Pink Legend en route to regaining the winning thread in this contest. She handles the undulations of this track just fine, having finished runner-up in this very race 12 months ago, and looks the most solid option. Irish raider Daphne Moon could run well at longer odds.

The unbeaten Corey's Courage merits the utmost respect after following up her bumper win with three successes over hurdles. Olly Murphy pitches her into handicap company for the first time here and she could go well, but it might be worth taking her on with bottom-weight RUBYTWO. Nicky Richards' veteran is a consistent sort at this level and ran well for second off her current mark in a valuable race at Musselburgh last time. Timetoroe won with plenty in hand at Carlisle last time and could go well off 6lb higher here, while Irish raiders Getaway Goldie and Island Mahee are also worthy of respect.

17:16 Perth (Class 5) (4YO plus)

World Trip won with some authority at Huntingdon two starts ago and has every chance of making an impact despite tasting defeat at Wetherby last time, while Farmer's Gamble struck in novice company at Wincanton but was beaten a fair way at Southwell last time. Ex S'elance wasn't beaten all that far at Carlisle last time and could make an impact now upped in trip, but EMIRAT DE CATANA shades the verdict. Lucinda Russell's gelding was well beaten over fences last time, but reverts to hurdles off just 2lb higher than when winning at the Edinburgh track in December.
