ALLAVINA finished down the field in the Dawn Run at the Cheltenham Festival but she had been progressive before that effort, winning twice over hurdles at Fontwell and Taunton, and the drop in class might see her bounce back to winning ways. Fortunes Melody arrives having had wind surgery following her UK debut at Southwell and she is likely to pose the most solid threat, while West End Lady appears best of the remainder.

MORNING VICAR was fancied to give a decent account when last seen in the Topham at Aintree but his jumping wasn't particularly fluent before he unseated his rider at Foinavon. The return to normal fences and a drop in grade may provide the confidence boost required for Nicky Henderson's gelding. Fire Away landed the hat-trick on his latest outing at Catterick and the application of cheekpieces may unlock further progression, while Collooney is capable of better following his recent fourth at Chepstow.

DUC DE GRISSAY remains on the same mark as his recent third to leading Bet365 Gold Cup fancy Kitty's Light at Kelso last month and the step back up in distance is unlikely to prove a concern. He held every chance when unseating at the last in the Borders National over 4m in December and this could prove to be an ideal place to gain compensation for that effort. Alminar benefited from a sounder surface when scoring at Wincanton last time and he commands plenty of respect along with Tea Time On Mars, who filled the runner-up spot in the Devon National at Exeter, and Head To The Stars.

KAKAMORA has an attractive, progressive profile and is fancied to play a leading role on his handicap debut. Tom George's charge stepped up on a couple of solid placed efforts when scoring comfortably over 2m at Huntingdon last time and he could improve again for stretching back out in distance. Gunsight Ridge has been running consistently well for a while now and warrants respect equipped with a first-time tongue-tie, while Tayzar also has a chance off his light weight.

15:50 Perth (Class 1) (5YO plus)

Dame De Compagnie is well treated at these weights and has to be respected switching back to fences from hurdles, but preference is for ZAMBELLA. Whereas the former was disappointing at last month's Cheltenham Festival, Nigel Twiston-Davies' charge was running a big race when falling three out in the new, and very strong, Mares' Chase. She had been in excellent form prior to that and another bold bid beckons. The other three aren't without hope, with My Old Gold defending her crown from two years ago.

16:20 Perth (Class 5) (4YO plus)

Balranald lines up off the same mark as when runner-up at Musselburgh last time and he has an obvious chance, but SHAWS BRIDGE gets the tentative vote. There was plenty to like about his first start for Micky Hammond at Carlisle recently and that fourth-placed effort has took a boost with the second winning since. Stepping up from 2m1f isn't much of a concern and he should go well off a 2lb lower mark. Fivetotwelve isn't out of it either with her sights lowered.

Maliboo has been knocking on the door of late and warrants plenty of respect, but is creeping up the handicap without getting on the scoresheet. Therefore, a chance is worth taking on GRIPPER, who is just 1lb higher than when second over course and distance in September and blew away the cobwebs on the Flat at Newcastle recently. Brian Hughes links up with Broadway Joe, who was a winner on his penultimate start, while Pitempton Power and Mr Melda are others to consider.

DOM PERRY created a taking impression when successful at Fakenham on debut and could be up to carrying a penalty to victory here for a yard enjoying a fine campaign and that are operating at 29 percent in this sphere this season. Nicky Henderson's Walking On Air pulled clear along with the winner when second at Kempton on her first outing and perhaps paid the price for being too keen in the early stages of that contest. She has to be taken seriously here, while Nicky Richards holds a strong hand with Hexham second Release The Kraken and Everyday Champagne, who got stuck in the mud at Ayr when sent off favourite for his racecourse bow and has the assistance of Brian Hughes here.
