Erins Stage is most interesting with Tony McCoy booked for her debut over hurdles, but she disappointed in a bumper at Downpatrick last month and QUEL ELITE edges the vote as a result. He has improved in each of his three starts over timber thus far and made good late headway to take second spot behind the useful Wyse Hill Tebags (who has finished third in a Listed race since) over 2m2f at Kelso 37 days ago. This extra yardage should help and further improvement must see him go very close. Pyjama Game reached the frame in each of his four bumper starts and is another who should benefit from climbing in trip first time over the sticks.

SIVOLA DE SIVOLA looks the one to beat. The 5-y-o showed signs of inexperience when making a couple of errors and finishing down the field in a Grade 2 prize at Cheltenham most recently, but a repeat of his 2 1/2-length second to Spirit Son (who has since won a Grade 2 himself) at Huntingdon previously would surely be good enough here. Lord Redsgirth represents the hugely respected Gordon Elliott stable and would have every chance if forgiven a lacklustre display at Down Royal last time, while Rain Stops Play cannot be overlooked having come agonizingly close to winning at Ayr 11 days ago.

EIGHT IS MY NUMBER will be strongly fancied to repeat his stable's success in this race 12 months ago. The selection stepped up on a couple of highly encouraging efforts (won a bumper first time out) when hacking up over 2m4f at Gowran last time (third has won since) and this extra half-a-mile can only help his cause. Mic's Delight is progressing all the time, however, and an extended 2m4f win on heavy ground at Leicester in February suggests that today's trip won't cause any problems, while Blenheim Brook looks best of the remaining pair although would probably need a downpour to trouble the leading protagonists.

Nine Stories made the ideal start to his chasing career when scoring in workmanlike fashion over 2m1f at Kelso last month but his jumping would need to be a little sharper to follow up and preference is for SAM LORD. Having made a winning debut over fences, he has been unlucky to bump into a couple of high-class performers and Wind Shuffle's enthusiastic running style could set the race up perfectly for him today. On the other hand, Graham Lee could be dangerous if given an easy lead on Jim Goldie's charge, while Wikaala has winning course form under his belt and is certainly no forlorn hope.

PLAN A could prove a cut above these rivals. He was far from disgraced when attracting a lot of market support and finishing fourth in the Grade 3 Fred Winter Hurdle at last month's Cheltenham Festival and possibly wasn't comfortable in the tongue-tie when disappointing at Aintree subsequently. That piece of tack has been left off today and he should take all the beating. Tout Regulier is now 2lb lower than her last winning mark and could go close if given an easy time of things out in front while Jim Goldie's pair, Toshi and Jewelled Dagger, both having winning C&D form under their belts and are worthy of consideration.

Appleaday lost little in defeat when runner-up at Ascot last time and commands respect despite a 5lb rise in the handicap, but a chance is taken on LOGANS RUN. Although he will never make back the 220,000 pounds forked out for him as a four-year-old, he now has bumper, hurdles and chase wins under his belt and conditional jockey Paul Gallagher, who rides for the first time today, is great value for his 5lb claim. Third Level Tom is having his first run since joining Gordon Elliott's team and could be dangerous to leave out of calculations.

OSCAR'S BALLAD makes plenty of appeal on his first run for the Gordon Elliott stable. He produced his best effort yet when a fast finishing third over 2m4f at Down Royal some six weeks ago and it looks significant that one of the best amateur riders in the game, Jamie Codd, has been booked to ride today. Nemetan has reached the frame in both outings so far this year and should be in the thick of the action once again, while Delightfully won readily under Grant Cockburn at Hexham last time and must be respected off a 5lb higher mark.
