SILVER DOLLARS put in a much improved performance when finishing runner-up at Catterick last month and if showing the same attitude today, should be able to get off the mark in this moderate opening event. The well-bred Beautiful Night has not set the world alight on her two British starts to date, but has shown enough to suggest that she can finish in the frame here, while Scarlet Cloak was in the process of running a decent race on his hurdling debut before falling at the last, and is another to consider.

The unexposed KING BARRY has already scored twice from his five chase starts and with this trip and ground in his favour, Pauline Robson's seven-year-old can follow-up his recent Ayr success. Clouding Over is in fine fettle at present but is yet to win in handicap company over fences, while Cyborg De Sou will appreciate this step back up in trip and would have every chance if brushing up on his jumping.

The versatile BOHEMIAN SPIRIT is just as effective at this trip as the 2m he won over at Ayr last month and can follow-up that very comfortable success here. The consistent Cloudless Dawn is another to consider on her handicap debut, while Acceleration left all recent form behind when scoring under a great Graham Lee ride at Kelso last time, and would be a threat if reproducing that.

GREEN TANGO was not disgraced when stepped up in class at Cheltenham and Aintree on his last two starts and should return to winning ways back at this level. Decent Flat performer Coat Of Honour, and Portavadie also ran at the Festival but seemed a little out of their depth, and will be more competitive back in this company.

The combination of these firmer underfoot conditions and the step-up to this marathon trip should prove ideal for SNOWY, who can continue his good form and score for the third time in five starts. Metal Detector has not won for over two years but has shown some improvement of late and has dropped to a lenient mark, while Moustique De L'Isle, who won over hurdles on heavy ground last time, may not be as effective on this surface but can still make the frame.

BEFORE DARK was unsuited by the drop in trip when disappointing at Exeter last time, and if Heather Dalton's lightly-raced eight-year-old handles this firmer surface, which he encounters for the first time, there is every chance he can get his head back in front here. Noir Et Vert showed improved form when winning round here on Wednesday, but that was a tough race and this may come a little too soon, while Forever Eyesofblue returns to hurdling and should be in the shake-up.

SIR JIMMY SHAND was out of his depth in a Grade 2 event at Aintree last time, but had previously scored in good style on his first two outings and can get back to winning ways here. The well-bred Mrdeegeethegeegee looks an interesting newcomer and should be noted for any market confidence, while Wee Bertie made an encouraging debut and can make the frame today.
