Regal Connection finished a short-head in front of Opera Comica when winning at Hamilton last month, and there should be little between the pair again here, with the runner-up just 1lb better off. PRINCE OF LOVE showed improved form to score with a bit in hand at Redcar on his handicap debut, and he can follow-up here with Seb Sanders an encouraging jockey booking.

HEATHWOOD ran a decent race in a first-time visor at Bath last month, on ground that was probably too firm for him,nd he can get his head in front today on this softer surface and over this longer trip, which should also suit. Thorny Mandate, who returns from a short break, has found some consistency and should be in the shake-up, while Little Bob returned to form last time, but only has one career success to his name, and is not the easiest to win with.

GOLDEN ASHA has only gone up 3lb for her C&D win last month, and this improving sort, who gets on really well with Fergal Lynch, can complete her hat-trick today. Why Now has been given a break since winning at Carlisle in June and should go well for the in-form Kevin Ryan team, while Whitbarrow, although not as good as he used to be, is very well handicapped and could go close if bouncing back to form.

NAKHEEL was well fancied on his debut at Hamilton and duly obliged despite running green. This son of Sadler's Wells looks a useful sort who will definitely improve, and he can take this step-up in class in his stride by following up here. Sir Mark Prescott's Dream Fantasy lost his unbeaten record in a conditions event at Epsom last time, but showed a good attitude, and should not be far away again today.

EMPANGENI has improved since being stepped up to two miles, winning two of his three starts. The John Dunlop-trained three-year-old, who is still improving and will appreciate this stiffer test of stamina, can regain the winning thread here. Rule For Ever was a disappointing beaten favourite last time, but had previously been running well, and would go close if back to his best.

This could rest between FOXYSOX and Misphire, who finished third and fourth respectively in the valuable Tattersalls October Auction Stakes last time, separated by only half a length. The former finished very strongly that day, and should confirm placings on this track with its stiff uphill finish sure to suit. Ingratitude has also shown ability and could make the frame again helped by wearing a first-time visor.
