HAADERR failed to justify odds-on favouritism when taking the silver medal home at Thirsk, but that was still a step forward from his introduction and Ed Bethell's colt looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to get off the mark. Nova Centauri has shown ability in both of his appearances, most recently finishing third over a mile at Yarmouth, and has to be respected. Toastmaster completes the shortlist.
NOVA CENTAURI has placed on both of her runs so far and her debut effort has been franked so he is fancied to get off the mark here. Ghisa sprung a 20/1 surprise to make a winning debut at Wolverhampton and is likely to have lots more to offer, but the vote goes to ZARINCA. The daughter of Expert Eye shaped with plenty of promise when just denied on her introduction at Newcastle and, with any amount of improvement to come, she could be the one to beat. Stepinmydirection is another to watch out for.
Ghisa is likely to be popular following a cosy debut victory on the tapeta over 6f. She is bred to relish this longer trip but may struggle to give weight away to ZARINCA who was a touch unlucky on debut having missed the break. She will also appreciate this longer trip and can get off the mark if starting on terms. Lady Wingalong finished third, just behind a subsequent winner, at Chester and is noted but NOEL FOX is preferred. Jennie Candlish's charge made the frame over 6f here on her latest outing and is just 1lb higher. The step back up in trip might bring about the improvement required to score.
GRADUATED did too much too soon last time after been rushed up having missed the break but she was in consistent form prior to that so if fancied to snap her long losing run here. AFTER LOVE had to wait for a gap to appear before scoring by a neck over C&D last week. She showed a good turn of foot once in the clear and may well defy a 6lb penalty on only her second start for George Boughey's yard. Brighton winner Unico could feature again back on the all-weather, while Addarella and Moostar enter the equation as well.
AFTER LOVE benefitted from a strong pace when a C&D winner on her stable debut and she should be able to defy a 6lb penalty. She remains well treated on his Irish form and all of her best efforts have come on the AW. Addarella has also shown a liking for artificial surfaces and should be thereabouts if matching her latest effort while bottom weight Unico isn't dismissed either. She snapped a long losing run last time and could build on that effort.

SHE WENT WHOOSH won off a 5lb higher mark at Lingfield back in April. Richard Hannon's filly showed signs of a resurgence when fourth at the same track on her latest start and could bounce back fitted with cheekpieces for the first time. Newyorkstateofmind is regularly in the mix at this level, while there could be more to come from Chepstow maiden winner Scent Of May.
SCENT OF MAY showed a willing attitude when landing a maiden last time and is fancied to follow up off a potentially lenient opening mark. Her summer novice form has been franked so if taking to the tapeta she can account for the consistent tapeta specialist Colors Of Freedom. Universal Story bids for a hat-trick having defied top weight when scoring over the extended 2m here last week. She is preferred to Tamaris, who is also chasing a treble on his first start since April 2024, but a chance is taken on ALFIE D. James Tate's three-year-old was doing his best work at the finish when staying on for third over 1m4f at Wolverhampton and this extra test of stamina should bring further improvement.

A return to 1m2f proved just the tonic for SHAMARDAL STAR when he scored a shade cosily at Newcastle in August. The placed horses have run with credit since and a 5lb higher mark for Richard Fahey's charge looks surmountable. Major Major bounced back to form with a good second at Chelmsford and he isn't taken lightly off an unchanged rating. The five-year-old is feared most, ahead of Mr Nugget.
MAJOR MAJOR has been running into form since returning from a break and can take advantage of a generous mark here. He's only 2lb higher than when winning over the winter and the step back up in trip will be in his favour.
