TINY RIOT has to give weight away to his rivals for winning one of these at Hexham and although he could only manage second at Market Rasen last time out, this might not be as tough because the horse who beat him that day looked quite smart and had won a couple of times on the Flat beforehand. Lucky Sevens can keep the selection honest if brushing up in the jumping department, while Hello Garda isn't ruled out either.

It was a huge step in the right direction when SON OF TYRAN got his head in front at Ludlow in the spring and first-time blinkers here might help sharpen him up following a lacklustre Worcester effort. He's been given a small break and could easily bounce back for leading connections. Bits Ballou and Brionywells are others to take seriously.

LAFFER CURVE is better judged on her chase debut second at Worcester rather than her latest Hexham no-show and stretching out in trip could suit this mare, who might put in an improved display in first-time cheekpieces. Artiste D'ainay won over timber at Southwell two starts ago and isn't without a squeak now switched to fences, while Rockvale makes some each-way appeal.

This may be dominated by decent Flat performers Genealogy and GAMBINO, with preference for the latter. Dan Skelton's gelding posted a good third on his timber debut at Newbury and he's undergone a wind procedure since disappointing on soft ground on the level at Musselburgh. Any improvement could see him open his account in this discipline, ahead of Worcester runner-up Genealogy, who has also had his breathing tinkered with. Penzance is the pick of the remainder.

PERSON OF INTEREST overcame an inadequate distance when scoring over 2m at Uttoxeter on Tuesday. The six-year-old should relish a return to this longer trip and he's fancied to defy a 7lb penalty. Market Rasen runner-up Thickthorn Tom finished 28 lengths ahead of the third and is an obvious danger, despite faced with a 4lb rise in the ratings. Definite Dream is another who looks capable of scoring at this level.

EDELAK hasn't looked back since his breakthrough success over timber at Huntingdon in the spring, as he's racked up a hat-trick courtesy of wide-margin handicap triumphs here and at Uttoxeter. It wasn't much of a race last time when he was left clear at the first, but he's really progressive for leading connections and is taken to continue on his merry way. Donnie Azoff and Snatch A Glance can put up most resistance.

Dan Skelton's quest for success rolls on with MISS KASSIOPI, who seems well placed to do her bit to boost the positive figures. After a pleasing second on debut for the yard at Hexham, the durable mare proved her trip versatility to score over an extended 2m5f at Newton Abbot. Cutting back further in distance shouldn't cause any issues and the top-weight can stamp her authority. Basilette, Pure Logic and La Lolita may fight it out for the minor spoils.
