Management showed a liking for similar quick conditions when getting off the mark at Wincanton in March and he warrants the utmost respect in his bid to follow up tonight but, in receipt of 18lb, BAHIRA could take some stopping. Donald McCain's filly has won three of her four starts in bumpers and will have been intensively schooled in the build-up to her hurdling debut. Barnack, a faller at Southwell 22 days ago, looks best of the remainder.

Connections of HOME couldn't have asked for much more when he put in a polished round of jumping and won readily on his chasing debut over 2m2f at Fontwell last month and, with improvement likely, he can make it two from two. High Jack returns to the scene of four of his six career wins thus far and looks the most likely danger, while Gunship shaped as though a drop back in trip would help when fifth over 2m5f at Uttoxeter latest and he cannot be ruled out from the foot of the weights here.

It's difficult to look past MISTER CHANCER here despite the burden of top weight. He looked at home on the quick ground when breaking his duck over 2m4f at Hereford last time and a repeat of that impressive performance should be good enough here. The Strawberry One made it two from three at this track (placed on the other occasion) when scoring comfortably over C&D latest and she rates the biggest threat, while Regal Reign is an interesting player first time under NH rules having filled the runner-up berth on his only start between the flags.

Mister Two Fifty was placed under McCoy on his only previous start in this country at Cartmel in August and he is sure to have plenty of supporters tonight but Ian Williams' chasing debutant, FELIX DA HOUSECAT, edges the vote. His second behind Call At Midnight over hurdles at Fontwell in September arguably represents his best effort yet (third has franked the form) and it's unlikely that the larger obstacles will cause him any problems. Mister Matt is no forlorn hope in the first-time blinkers, but Lavally Legend looks to have it all to do.

It's hard to put forward the temperamental KENSINGTON OVAL here with any real confidence but he should really take all the beating if putting it all together. This former Sir Michael Stoute inmate recorded his sole hurdles win over this C&D in October and the champion jockey, who rides tonight, has been banging in the winners recently. The Quantum Kid must be feared after his game success at Southwell in March, while Meridiem has been placed in each of his three previous visits here (winning one).

AMMUNITION clearly likes it at this specialist track (won or placed in each of his four completed starts here) and he gets the vote to come out on top tonight. Although carrying top weight is a concern, he does stay all day and won't mind the forecast quick ground. Ethiopia arrives here hoping to make it four wins in a row and should put up a good fight despite the 7lb penalty he must carry for his C&D success 11 days ago, while Breaking Silence and the in-form Jolly Boys Outing add further spice to a competitive event.

Native Beauty commands respect on her racecourse debut for the hugely respected Nicky Henderson stable, but TRUE BLUE looks the safer option with a couple of point-to-point victories already under his belt. His fitness is also assured as the latest of those wins was only 19 days ago and connections will be hopeful of a big run from their 40,000-euro purchase. There was plenty to like about Egretta Island's debut fourth at Worcester earlier this month and she can build on that here.
