This should go the way of GALIOTTO, a modest performer on the Flat but who took to hurdling in style when scoring over 2m at Plumpton last month. This looks tougher but there could be plenty more to come. The in-form Minneapolis was second in a Fontwell handicap this month and looks the danger here, back in novice company, but Gordy Bee and Getaway Driver are not without chances.
Minneapolis has done more than enough to think an ordinary event such as this is within his compass over hurdles, and he can make the most of the weight he receives from previous winner Galiotto.

This looks like an ideal opportunity for BILLY MURPHY to break his duck over fences at the 11th time of asking. He lost his way at the start of the year but returned to form with a close second over 3m at Chepstow this month. He's up 7lb today but was only caught close home last time and this drop in trip should enable him to go one better. Global Flyer is somewhat flattered by his form figures but still looks the main threat while Earcomesthedream, Like Ice and Nobby Kivambo can all be given chances.
Not a race to get carried away with, but Like Ice hasn't done much wrong over fences and promises to be better suited to this track than Stratford. Billy Murphy could be dangerous if going with the same gusto as he did at Chepstow.

Plenty in with chances but it could be worth siding with Wincanton winner GREAT ESTEEM. A jumping error two out cost him his chance at Ffos Las when fourth last time but a clear round today should see him land the spoils. Meridiem scored over C&D last month but carries another 11lb today and will need to raise his game, while Turbo Shandy was a good third over 2m1f at Hereford this month off today's mark and has scored twice over fences but is still to break his duck after 20 starts over timber.
C&D winner Meridiem is the obvious starting point, but he's been hit with an 11 lb rise and Turbo Shandy may represent better value. Great Esteem is also interesting on his handicap debut.

MIDNIGHT DIAMOND, an impressive hurdling winner at Sedgefield two starts ago, is yet to score in 13 runs over fences but is running well at present, going down by a short-head at Chepstow this month. He's up 7lb now but these don't look the strongest of rivals and he might not have a better chance to break his duck. Jacarado is the most experienced chaser here but hasn't won for more than two years and might have to settle for place money again. Overton Lad can be given a chance off this mark if at his best.
Midnight Diamond is well treated in the context of this weak race and is much the most likely winner. Overton Lad may do best of the rest.

It's hard to oppose the claims of DANCING DUDE here. A decent sort on the Flat, he looked quite green on his debut over hurdles but still scored cosily over 2m5f at Uttoxeter last month. If he's benefited for the experience, he should take all the beating here. Double point-to-point scorer Blue Signal is clearly going the right way over timber and, although he still has plenty to find, could be the one for the forecast. Money Tree looks to be improving and might not be too far away.
Dancing Dude looks to have been found a good opening and can make it 2 from 2 over hurdles. Blue Signal is the main danger on form, though Airdrie might see his race out better in a first-time tongue strap.

Latenightdip boasts a fine strike-rate between the flags and must be given every chance on his debut under Rules, while What Of It was well beaten over 3m at Exeter last time but can be given a chance on his game victory over 2m5f at Leicester in February. Preference is for MCCAULEY, who has improved with each of his three runs following a ten-month break. He was headed close home when second over 2m4f at Ludlow latest but can go one better today.
McCauley has raised his game in hunters of late and is accorded plenty of respect, along with promising pointer Latenightdip, but this may be best left to What of It, who will be more in his element with less emphasis on stamina than last time.
