LAREENA is surely much better than what she showed at Clonmel back in May, given that she was sent off as a 4/6 favourite on that occasion. She showed ability in her native France back in 2016 and can be given another chance today. Schmidt has shown promise in all of his starts to date and should be thereabouts once again today, while Visioman is also respected.

CUBOMANIA made a winning debut over hurdles last week and a 7lb rise in the ratings is unlikely to stop him from going in again today. Seskin Flyer also arrives here on the back of a recent victory and he is next on the list. Scotch Quay gets weight from all of his rivals today and recent efforts suggest that he has solid place chances.

DEAL D'ESTRUVAL ran well in all three starts in France early last year and he has to be given the utmost respect on his debut for Willie Mullins. Mag Brady was unfortunate to bump into a potentially high-class stablemate of the selection last time out and she could fill second place once again today. Others to consider are Eamon High, Sir Carno and So Influential.

Ardera Cross has to be given plenty of respect given the form he has been in since August and that includes his victory over hurdles here a few weeks ago. However, TERRIBLE BEAUTY was an easy winner of a maiden hurdle over C&D last month and an opening mark of 109 may underestimate her ability. Conna Cross is another with decent form claims, while Hanover Street is an each-way alternative.

BACHASSON dominated a small field when returning a 24-length winner in Listed company at Thurles in November and is expected to go well once again if he isn't taken on for the lead by Champagne West. A Toi Phil makes some appeal on his Grade 2 victory at Gowran in September and is respected now eased in grade, having found Sizing John too classy when fourth in the John Durkan. Lord Scoundrel needs to step up plenty on his Kerry National effort, when pulling up, in order to figure.

Artic Pearl has been knocking very hard on the door of late and seems sure to prove popular ahead of his chasing debut. Blue Empyrean caught the eye at Clonmel recently and is another to consider, but it is hard to get away from PATSIO. The 10-year-old was an impressive winner at Limerick last time and a 6lb rise in the weights might not be enough to halt his progress.

SHANKLYS DAWN boasts the most convincing piece of recent form with his fine runner-up finish over this C&D last month. Only 2lb higher this afternoon, another bold bid surely beckons and he is readily preferred to Buzzkillbob, who was pulled up last time having finished second at Galway previously. Highest Benefit shaped promise at Thurles last time and perhaps he can fare best of the rest.
