Henry De Bromhead has won three of the last seven runnings of this contest including last season, and he relies on Tomthescaffolder, third here over further last month and dropping back in trip looking for victory. Sea Eagle has been kept busy since finishing second over hurdles at Downpatrick last September and he could go well, but Sligo second ROSENBORG could be the one. Caught late on and beaten less than three lengths that day, Ross Sugrue claims 7lb from the saddle here which could make all the difference.

CHOSEN SHANT seems to save her best for here with three wins and a second from seven attempts, including this race last season which she won by a length and three-quarters off 2lb higher in the handicap. An unlucky second over shorter here last month, she should be fully primed for a repeat bid in 2026. Tellmemamema has been racing over further recently but has strong claims if she can repeat her nine-length Down Royal fourth over a similar trip in May, while course and distance third Avandra and Gordon Elliott's Tropical Twist are others to consider.

Ma Belle Etoile looks better suited to the going than some and although she failed to build on a win over fences in July last year, a return to hurdles could suit. SHABOOZEE won a pair of Ballinrobe handicaps last summer with ease before finishing fourth in a Listed handicap at Listowel and if she is ready to go on her first start of the year, she would prove difficult to beat at this level. Splashing Out ran too badly to be true when beaten 40 lengths at Galway and may be worth another chance.

SET THE TONE finally opened her account when upped in trip and returning the ready winner over C&D last month. There looks more to come from David O'Brien's mare over staying distances and she's taken to confirm superiority with Gerrys Wish. Second on that occasion, the latter failed to seriously threaten the selection, so Clone Cross may prove the bigger threat back in handicap company having finished the creditable runner-up at Kilbeggan last time.

HOB'S ANGEL bounced back with a creditable third over 3m here last time. The return to this shorter distance will likely suit James Barcoe's inmate, based on her victory at Clonmel back in May, and she's taken to edge out Bayonetta. The latter holds every chance if repeating last month's second at Perth, while the unexposed Deise Crystal placed twice over 2m1f here back in May, and this extra test of stamina may bring forth further improvement.

Larkins Lane failed to complete the hat-trick when a well beaten eighth at Sligo latest, but there will be plenty who keep the faith in her. Dark Berkshire produced a better display when third at Kilbeggan and is another to note, especially off a 1lb lower rating. However, ESTICKY END went in by a neck over an extended 2m at this venue on his most recent start and can cope with this step back up in distance to record a double.

It's hard to get away from GET IT GIRL, who shaped with some promise when third on her introduction at Thurles last October and is bound to take a step forward from that experience. If the daughter of Jukebox Jury does so, she will prove hard to beat. Royal Tiara wasn't beaten far into third at Killarney last month and needs to be taken seriously, while Bredas Pearl is another to watch out for.
