Point North is proven under these conditions and should be thereabouts if reproducing the form of his C&D second last time. Menelik makes appeal on his sprint victories at Chelmsford and Lingfield in March and was only beaten narrowly at the latter venue on Tuesday, though DUTCH GOLDEN AGE could take all of the beating now eased in grade. He's fitted with a first-time visor and has the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle.

WORLD POWER is improving between runs and should be thereabouts if building on his latest distance second at Thirsk. Arnarson has place claims if running to his official rating of 78 and is entitled to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces. The main danger to the selection, however, may prove to be expensive newcomer Always Amazing who debuts for the shrewd Robert Cowell operation.

MY GIRL MAISIE landed minor money at Newcastle over 7f last time and may be able to step up on that effort now reverting to sprinting and moving into handicap company. Paquita Bailarina attracted support when beaten into eighth at Yarmouth last time and may be capable of playing a minor role, while Kings Heart makes some appeal for a place based on his C&D second back in November.

LA VIE EN ROSE is turned out under a penalty for winning over this trip at Catterick last week and is expected to remain competitive under a penalty. True Romance kept on well in the closing stages when third over 1m2f at Beverley last time and could improve for this stiffer test, while Oxford Blu, who is 6lb higher than when scoring over 1m2f at Newcastle in November, could sneak some minor money.

ME TOO NAGASAKI was an impressive winner in treacherous conditions at Doncaster last month and the three-year-old is proving quite the adaptable type, having landed his maiden on Polytrack. There is no reason to suggest that Jeremy Noseda's charge won't handle Tapeta and he can account for the unbeaten Pavillon, who is held in high regard by Clive Cox, and Dowayla, who has cheekpieces applied now after a disappointing run when last seen at Pontefract in October. 250,000gns breeze-up purchase Weloof completes the shortlist.

LORD MURPHY arrives in superb form and has a plum draw to try and claim a third win from his last five starts under Adam Kirby. A 5lb rise doesn't look too harsh and the son of Holy Roman Emperor can prove tough to stop. Muthraab Aldaar was solid in the betting at Lingfield in March and might have been perked up by a short break, while Grey Destiny and Caribbean Spring are others to take seriously.

Richard Guest has enjoyed a decent season on the all-weather and first-time cheekpieces might get the best out of SAKHALIN STAR, who can claim a first victory since July 2015. The six-year-old is weighted to win again and looked close to his best when third at Wetherby last month. Makhfar has gone well the last twice for his patient connections and should go close, while the booking of Adam Kirby on The Firm is worth noting.

CALEDONIA LAIRD didn't find much back on turf last time out but should appreciate a return to Tapeta and a drop back to seven furlongs. Stall one can see the six-year-old get a nice toe into the race and he can account for the likes of Misu Pete, who had his chance at Chelmsford recently but wasn't quite good enough in the final few yards. Top Offer has dropped to a tempting mark and leads the list of dangers, alongside Dark Confidant and Black Truffle.
