BEAUDEN BARRETT appears to be improving between runs and is taken to build on his maiden victory over 6f at Lingfield now stepped up in trip on his handicap bow. Capolavoro has been raised 2lb for his near miss over track and trip two weeks ago but has strong place claims. Others to consider are Soaring Spirits, who has been cut some respite by the handicapper, and Personal Touch, who took a step in the right direction when fifth over C&D latest.

VINCENZO COCCOTTI ran on well in the closing stages when scoring over this trip at Chelmsford last time. Ken Cunningham-Brown's four-year-old is 5lb higher here but is a C&D winner that commands respect in his current mood. Dodgy Bob rattled the crossbar in a distance claimer at Leicester and should be thereabouts with a repeat of that effort. The pick of the remainder may be Mallymkun, who is 2lb higher than when striking over track and trip in August.

Adrian Brendan Joyce has had two winners from just seven runners at this venue when travelling over from Ireland and the booking of Shane Foley for COACH BOMBAY suggests that a fair effort is expected from the eight-year-old. A mark of 56 is there to be defied and he caught the eye at Dundalk last time out, travelling well at the back under mostly hands and heels under his inexperienced rider. Kubeba remains on a career-low mark and ran well on reappearance last time, while Caledonia Laird is also considered.

Adam Kirby is often the man that powerful connections turn to on the all-weather when they want to win a maiden and it is no great surprise to see Al Shaqab reach for the Grade 1-winning rider. GETNA ran a race full of promise at Lingfield in October in a strong maiden and the 250,000 euros purchase should make a bold bid to get off the mark. Flaming Marvel was a promising second on debut at large odds and should go well, while Bois De Boulogne sports cheekpieces on debut and is likely to know his job.

SUTTER COUNTY burst onto the scene with an impressive nine-length victory over track and trip on debut in March and although he seemed to lose his way in the summer, he returned to form when narrowly touched off in a similar contest at Newcastle last month. A repeat of that latest effort may well suffice unless Godolphin representative Dubai One or William Haggas inmate Gheedaa can step up on the level of form they've shown in handicaps and run well above their rating.

WATERSMEET has to be respected in such an event. A former course winner, he is likely to launch a bold bid from stall one and P J McDonald is expected to control the tempo of the race. Barye hasn't been at his best since joining Richard Hughes but is more than capable on his day and has gone well here in the past, while First Mohican landed this prize last year and cannot be discounted. Rock Steady and Winning Story are respected with their weight-for-age allowances.

Hier Encore and DELAGOA BAY are closely matched on their recent course form over C&D but slight preference goes to the latter who was arguably given too much to do and is better off at the weights with that rival due to Mitch Godwin's 5lb claim. Trending is of interest now stepping up in distance having shocked plenty with a win over 1m5f at Lingfield earlier this year, while Sakhra was fourth in the race contested by the selection last time and has each-way claims.

SNOBBERY ran well on his debut when not knocked about in third behind the useful Sir Valentine at Kempton and the son of Duke Of Marmalade looks capable of landing a maiden of this nature. Vision Of Beauty should improve for her debut at Newcastle where she was very green and looks the most obvious danger, while Lobster Cocktail improved for a step up in distance last time at Kempton and looks best of the remainder.
