Track and trip winner AL MUHEER looks one of the better treated runners in the race on these terms and gets the verdict now dropped in grade on the back of a creditable 6f effort (fourth) in handicap company at Chester last time. Mr David landed a C&D claimer here on his penultimate outing and looks the main danger at the weights, while Light From Mars hasn't been disgraced in some tough handicaps on turf lately and could also finish on the premises.

EMERAHLDZ struck on her handicap debut over 7f at Carlisle last time and promises to be suited by this stiffer test as she bids to defy a subsequent 5lb rise. Rockie Road, third behind the selection that day, is actually 2lb worse off with the winner and may struggle to reverse placings on these terms. Paddy's Bay offered more when third off 2lb higher at Carlisle last time and merits shortlist inclusion along with Mimbleberry, who could improve for the fitting of a first-time visor.

Mister Fizz returned to winning ways over this trip at Haydock last month but has a 6lb rise to contend with here so of more interest is AWATTAN, who has been outpaced over shorter trips in maidens and may benefit from the step up to this longer trip now taking on her elders in receipt of weight for age. Mistral Wind was sent off favourite when fourth over 1m6f last time and merits a market check now back in trip. Unexposed beyond 1m2f, Everlasting Light is another to consider.

POUR LA VICTOIRE is 1lb lower than when second over 1m at Brighton last month and may be capable of improving on that five-length beating now granted this stiffer test. Michael Bell's handicap debutant Hispania merits a market check now stepping back up in trip and has place possibilities along with the hat-trick seeking Let Me In.

SCEPTICISM placed over C&D twice in April and is worth a market check now returning from a spell hurdling as he's only 1lb higher now returned to polytrack. He's narrowly preferred to Penang Power, who drops back in trip after finishing fifth over 1m4f last time, and Chris Wall's handicap debutant Rainbows And Roses, who has turned in three moderate performances in maidens but may be capable of building on those efforts off an opening perch of 52.

Outback Lover returned a beaten favourite over track and trip last month and marginal preference is therefore for fellow C&D winner KODAFINE, who shaped as if a return to the minimum trip would suit when fifth over 6f here last month. Little Big Man appeared to improve for the fitting of blinkers when runner-up over C&D last time and although he has a little to find with the selection on these terms, minor money may not be beyond him.

Messageinabottle would have every chance on her close-up second over this trip at Redcar in July but she has failed to build on that in two subsequent starts. Daring Dragon looks a big threat on his Lingfield second last December but is returning from a 289-day break, so preferred ahead of both is last-time-out Kempton third YOU LOOK SO GOOD, who can improve for this drop in distance.

8

21:15 Wolverhampton (Class 5) (3YO plus)

NORTHERN MEETING is Sir Michael Stoute's only runner on the card and although she's been held in two middle-distance handicaps previously, she is dropped in grade here and looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to supplement her Catterick maiden victory in July. Rainbow Beauty broke her maiden over C&D last winter and has been in good order in turf handicaps lately. Elnadwa has been raised 1lb for a narrow defeat behind Burning Dawn here last month and is also high on the shortlist for a stable that does so well in this sphere.
