Siena Star is a player and Winged Farasi has shaped as though this step back up in trip would be in his favour but the vote goes to THORNABY GREEN, who wasn't beaten far last time and would have been even closer with an uninterrupted passage. Elsewhere, Red Current could go close in this company whilst Moment Of Clarity and Mister Fizzbomb have claims if they can cope with this shorter trip.

The selection is NINTH HOUSE who is a solid performer in this grade and has run his best races at this track. Sawwaah was in fine form when last in action but his yard hasn't been in quite the same form of late as it was earlier in the year and he may be worth taking on. Daring Affair and Capania may prove best of the remainder.

Ceka Dancer is one to consider on the formbook and is likeliest to take advantage of a below par display from APPLAUDED. The latter is drawn wide and fitted with first-time blinkers, but she was beaten under seven lengths in the Rockfel Stakes and really should be hard to beat. Jazenio is the most interesting of the newcomers and should be monitored in the market.

A penalty won't make life easy for SILVER PRELUDE in such a competitive heat but he comes into this contest in fine form and can usually be relied upon to run his race at this track. He is taken to prevail with Back In The Red, Compton Classic and Desert Opal likely to pose most problems.

Bernabeu may well have more to offer and has to be feared, as does Altos Reales, whilst Ilviz and Mandalay Prince need to be monitored for signs of support. However, preference is for SIR SANDICLIFFE. John Egan got a decent tune out of him last time when the pair were a shade unfortunate to bump into a well-handicapped rival and they may be able to go one better tonight.

Plenty of these arrive here in good heart and it looks a tricky puzzle for punters to solve. MASTER PEGASUS gets the nod but it would be no surprise if Gunfighter were still ahead of the handicapper, while Abbondanza still has some scope from his current mark despite the assessor's attentions. Alfresco makes most appeal of the remainder and is no back number.
