MEGALEKA encountered trouble in running when beaten here two starts ago but gained compensation when scoring over the minimum trip at Lingfield last week. Alan Bailey's filly is expected to remain competitive under a penalty and may be capable of making it three wins from her last four outings. Thorpe Bay rattled the crossbar at Southwell latest and has place claims along with Interchoice Star, who is 5lb higher than for his C&D win latest.

EMERALD BREEZE offered little in maidens but has suddenly come to life since switched to handicaps, building on a fair 1m effort at Southwell last month when scoring over C&D last time out. Tim Pitt's charge should remain competitive now turned out under a penalty for that three length victory and rates the one to beat. Recent Lingfield scorer Rose Buck and the consistent El Duque also figure prominently on the shortlist.

WAVING has been laughing at the assessor of late and made it five on the bounce when going in again at Dundalk last Friday. Those victories have come over distances ranging from 1m4f to 1m6f, but he is entitled to improve again now upped to 2m and may be capable of shaking off a penalty. Estemaala is unexposed and struck off 2lb lower on turf last year so is one to consider now fitted with a first-time visor on her return from a break. Stormy Morning won off this mark over C&D in January and is also entitled to go close.

TROY BOY was beaten by under a length when second over the extended 1m1f here last time and is a potential improver, off the same mark, now dropping back slightly in distance. Edgware Road was third behind the selection in the same race and commands obvious respect while reopposing on the same terms. The pick of the remainder may be the dropped-in-trip Supa Seeker, who has Graham Lee replacing an apprentice in the saddle this evening.

EXCELLENT PUCK looked to be travelling strongly but lacked a finishing kick when fourth over shorter here last time. Now upped in trip and with Adam Kirby taking over in the saddle, better is expected this evening. Flying Power recorded three C&D wins here last winter and merits shortlist inclusion along with unexposed Mark Johnston inmate Aryal, who returns from a break, and German raider Future Security, who runs under a penalty after landing a Listed race in the snow at St Moritz.

Bumper winner PUZZLE TIME sets the form standard on her C&D second two starts ago and last-time-out 1m3f second at Southwell. David O'Meara's Philosofy struck over timber when last sighted and is interesting now debuting on the level, while the James Tate representative Hallouella took a forward step when second here last time and is another who could figure now granted this stiffer test for the first time.

SIAN GWALIA is 4lb higher than for her C&D win three weeks ago but remains open to improvement on what is only her seventh career start. The main danger may prove to be Grandiloquent, who scraped home by a head in an apprentices' contest over track and trip last time but can at least race off an unchanged rating. Helmsley Flyer failed to see out the trip over 1m6f here last time and could also take a hand now reverting to the same C&D he won over on his penultimate outing.
