C&D winner ABDUCTION produced a strong finish when winning on his stable debut at Lingfield last month and, off a 2lb higher mark, the four-year-old makes the most appeal. Some Nightmare has gone well when returning from a break in the past and looks next best, while Caribbean Sunset makes just his second start for Grant Tuer and cannot be discounted either.

NAJAT looked highly promising when making a winning debut at Thirsk in June last year, so much so that she was sent off second favourite in a Listed event at Newmarket on her only subsequent run. Her performance on the July course was too bad to be true and the daughter of Ardad is fancied to get back on the right track here, possibly at the expense of Brides Bay, who wasn't beaten far at Chelmsford on her latest start. Obtain makes her debut for Alice Haynes and is another to consider in first-time cheekpieces.

A case can be made for plenty in this field and a slight preference is for the handicap debutant HIGH VELOCITY, who maintained his unbeaten record on the all-weather when winning easily at Newcastle on his latest start. Little Prayer has gone close at Lingfield on her last two outings and warrants plenty of respect, while Foxy Rascal can also figure on her first handicap run.

A tentative vote goes to MR PC, who must hold every chance if bouncing back to the form that saw him denied by the shortest of margins over C&D in January. Double C&D winner Nellie French arrives here with a similar profile and is likely to enter the reckoning along with the well-handicapped veteran Qaaraat. Billy Dylan and First Verse are capable of having a say in proceedings as well.

Now that the penny has finally dropped for RAABEH, there could be plenty more to come from the son of Showcasing as he looks to supplement a recent Southwell victory. Dirchill has been somewhat unlucky on a couple of occasions this season and he is a likely type if getting the breaks, while Captain Ryan may be inconsistent but remains well capable on his day. San Juan is not to be underestimated either.

KING OF THE SOUTH only found one too good in a Listed race at Lingfield a month ago and that followed a handicap victory off a mark of 101. A reproduction of either of those efforts today would give him a big chance. Celtic Art is an obvious danger having won twice this year already, while Protected Guest is another with strong form claims.

The drop in trip did not suit SCARBOROUGH CASTLE last time but he is arguably the one to beat based on his narrow defeat over C&D in January. Avarice has made the frame in his last couple of starts and he should be in the mix once again today. Seagulls Nest edges out Lunar Shadow to be the pick of the remainder.
