HOOTYS AGOGO shaped nicely on his racecourse debut over this C&D last week and he is entitled to improve a good deal for that initial experience so is fancied to get off the mark this evening. Cheveyo has been performing with credit in handicap company of late and he rates the main danger ahead of Chester Deelyte who has a lay-off to overcome. Take Root should also improve for his debut experience.

SHOUDA has shown only a glimmer of promise in three runs in maidens but he is open to plenty of improvement and it would be no surprise to see him take a hand on his handicap debut off a mark of just 49. Acropolis carries a 6lb penalty as a result of his success in a seller here last week but he should not be left out of calculations while Money Money Money and Rare Coincidence are others with claims.

Alan Bailey has his string in good order at present and his LOVES THEME has solid claims here. A reproduction of her close second in a claimer over this C&D last month would make her a leading contender. Roodee Queen is returning from a lay-off but she has a big chance if at the top of her game. The consistent Mazovian is also respected while Golden Taurus could not be ruled out with confidence in a tricky looking contest.

EMBASSY PEARL shaped with some promise on her debut at Southwell in February and, with plenty of improvement likely and the step up in trip to suit, she can go one better here. Hoppy's Flyer had some useful form last year but she seemed to be going backwards towards the end of the season. Finefrenzyrolling is worthy of consideration while Full Shilling could find the necessary improvement to take a hand.

PARADISE SPECTRE had some very good juvenile form and, although he was never really at his best last season, he should be capable of taking a hand on his reappearance. Any confidence behind Sumbe would make him of interest on his handicap debut while Conry merits consideration. Copperwood got the better of Spin Again over this C&D last month and that pair are closely matched again this evening.

Needwood Ridge, a maiden winner here on his second start, is clearly progressing and shouldn't be too far away but Black Coffee and Stargazing, who both landed doubles at the track earlier in the year, look to be in the grip of the handicapper now. It should pay to side with MOUNTAIN CAT, who looks to be running back into form following a winter break. He was just beaten into third over 1m at Kempton last time and has little to find to land the spoils here.

Hard to rule any of these out but it might pay to stick with AHLAWY, who scored by a neck over the extended mile here last time. He's up 2lb but won rather cleverly, has scored off this mark in the past, and has proved he gets the trip. Christmas Carnival's two wins last year came on turf but he's shown enough on his one run on polytrack to be given every chance while Saint Thomas wasn't far away over C&D last time and is another to consider.
