A return to the minimum trip looks a positive move for ORIENTAL RELATION and, providing blinkers have a similar effect here, the two-year-old should be able to open his account in this heat. Ealain Aibrean shaped well on her first start for David Evans and warrants respect with Adam Kirby in excellent form at present, but Royal Birth may prove the biggest danger to the selection. Stuart Williams' charge hung right on his debut at York but he boasts a reasonable pedigree and should leave that form well behind tonight.

EPIC BATTLE returned from an injury-induced layoff with a bang last month, collecting two handicaps off marks in the 70s, and is fancied to continue his progression for William Haggas this afternoon. Solar Deity was well backed last time and travelled powerfully throughout that contest before winning as he liked. He probably hasn't finished improving yet. Recent winners Spirit Of The Law and Star Links warrant respect in this heat, with similar comments applying to Marshgate Lane. Mark Johnston's charge got the run of the race last time but is likely to put in another bold show off a 7lb higher mark here.

Despite being an 18-race maiden, OUR GOLDEN GIRL has run some fine races in defeat and she is taken to break her duck tonight. The three-year-old was only narrowly touched off over C&D five days ago, finishing third despite having to challenge wide off the bend, and looks a major player racing off the same mark. Bennelong was well backed on his stable debut for Lee Carter last time and should be on the premises once again, while Funky Munky has been in fine form over timber and tackles a suitable trip on the AW for the first time here.

EX EX has shown enough promise in two starts at Lingfield and Kempton to suggest a maiden of this nature is within his grasp, and the son of Exceed And Excel gets the verdict. He's entitled to show more improvement going up to 7f for the first time and will be wiser for his latest outing. Slope arrives boasting valuable experience and her rating of 91 must be taken seriously, while Love Excel can also make the frame.

GEORGE FENTON, a C&D winner on his most recent start, is expected to prove a tough nut to crack here. Conor Dore's inmate has been running at the top of his game at Dunstall Park in recent weeks and is only 1lb higher for his narrow success under Hayley Turner last week. Menelik also arrives in good nick and he's expected to be positively ridden from a good draw in stall three, while Seek The Fair Land can also go well at a generous price.

ARCTIC FEELING has posted a decent efforts over track and trip the last twice and with his recent fifth splitting a pair rated 87 and 85, the form looks solid enough to suggest he can take this. Al's Memory won over a furlong further when last sighted and can be on the premises again with his confidence boosted, while Master Bond was better than his fifth placed finish suggested at Southwell and could be a live contender from the bottom of the weights.

STEELCUT found only one too good when appearing over the minimum trip at this venue last month, and with that run hinting that he has retained some ability plus five victories to his name at this track all coming off much higher ratings, he looks worth taking a chance on. Penbryn won over track and trip when last sighted and could go close again with his confidence boosted, while Consistant showed some encouraging signs on his last starts on turf and can make an impact on his reappearance.
