BAHANGO has been in excellent form in 2017, with two victories sandwiched by a couple of commendable efforts in defeat. The most recent of the five-year-old's wins came over course and distance less than two weeks ago and a 5lb rise seems more than fair. Come On Dave is a three-time winner here, while The Big Lad is a player if handling Tapeta. Showmethewayavrilo kept hitting the crossbar towards the end of last term but must be considered, despite his absence.

HYDROXIDE kept excellent company as a juvenile, beating all bar subsequent Listed winner D'bai on debut before again occupying the runner-up berth in a traditionally warm Doncaster maiden. He let down favourite-backers twice afterwards but remains a decent prospect and the application of blinkers will sharpen him up. Mostahel and Farook both have the advantage of race fitness having taken second at Leicester and Chelmsford respectively, and Calypso Jo also enters the equation after a promising beginning.

Dandy Flame is on a real roll and has joined Richard Hughes since winning a claimer here but he faces a handful of unexposed opponents, including QUEEN IN WAITING. Mark Johnston's filly disposed of a rival who is now rated 98 when last seen in action so a mark of 80 should be well within her compass. Full Intention did what was expected of him on his comeback, while Rock Of America went close to making it two from two at Chelmsford.

THERTHAAR began a Wolverhampton winning spree around this time last year, completing a quickfire hat-trick before flopping back on turf at Hamilton. He has been given plenty of time to strengthen further and has also been gelded during his break so even more is anticipated this season. Siouxperhero goes well at this circuit but the handicapper appeared to have caught up with him last time so perhaps the handicap debutant Deep Challenger will give the selection most to think about.

Oxford Don improved significantly between his first two appearances, whereas WEDDING BREAKFAST regressed between hers. However, Hugo Palmer's filly may have paid the price for setting the pace and the application of a hood now should enable her to see her race out better. Major Cornwallis and Secret Salvage might be seen to better effect when going handicapping, and the same can be said for Lightly Squeeze, who contested decent maidens last year.

MEDAHIM cost 360,000gns as a yearling and created a striking impression when winning as he liked on his Kempton introduction in December. While his 2000 Guineas entry might be flying a bit high at this stage, there is no doubt that he has unlimited potential and an initial figure of 87 is a workable one. Parfait and Original Choice have both been gelded since rounding out their juvenile campaigns with maiden wins. Abiento was last seen running down the field in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy, and High Acclaim also drops in class having returned in the Spring Cup at Lingfield.

Evanescent burst back into life to claim second at Lingfield last time but he isn't the most reliable, while Caledonia Laird, for all that he is generally consistent, is on a bit of a losing run, although he is finally back down to his last winning mark. Tavener should appreciate the return to an artificial surface but this can go the way of CASTLEREA TESS, who has held her form really well this year and is ready for the step back up to this trip.
