Jimmy's Hall is feasibly treated at the weights and has been far from disgraced in handicap company the last twice. He merits plenty of respect, as does last week's C&D runner-up Sewn Up, who remains in really good form. However, NEVER TO BE receives weight from both of that pair, is the highest rated of these on official figures, and was a good second at this venue last time. He looks the one to plump for.

Best Example is more than capable of landing a race of this nature having turned in another solid display when just missing out on the places at Kempton last month. That said, he hasn't quite progressed as once hoped and might struggle to get the better of BIG TIME. Dandy Nicholls' top-weight has been knocking hard on the door in recent starts and was a shade unlucky to bump into a resurgent Forceful Appeal at Lingfield, looking the winner for much of that contest until claimed by his well-handicapped rival inside the final furlong. Abbey Angel has found some form of late, without winning, and she makes up the shortlist.

Charlie Lad has plenty of pace and likes to get on with things, but those tactics could be hard to carry out from stall nine and preference is for dual C&D winner RAT CATCHER. The six-year-old was below his best when posted out wide at Lingfield last time but had been in good heart previously, including when successful here in December, and he isn't one to give up on. There should be more to come from the lightly-raced Your Lucky Day and he is also noted.

Following three modest maiden efforts, OPERA BUFFA produced a clear career-best performance when finishing third over 7f here and Mark Johnston's filly looks the type to keep going forward. Last-time C&D winner Hold On Magnolia warrants plenty of respect, despite a subsequent 3lb rise, while the consistent Mysterious Look and Custard The Dragon are others who could be capable of getting involved.

WINGED DANCER took a big step forward when running out an impressive victor over a mile at Kempton earlier in the month, travelling sweetly throughout before powering clear in the closing stages. An 8lb rise promises to make his life tougher but he remains capable of better still and might only need to produce a repeat performance. The consistent Clodianna is obvious shortlist material once again, and another to consider is Frap, a winner on the turf at Leicester when last seen in October.

Sizzler is a fascinating contender on his first run for 580 days and it will be interesting to see which way he goes in the market, while Kashmir Peak looks high enough in the weights for his return to Flat duty but is another who is capable of very smart form. The most solid option, however, might prove to be PADDYS MOTORBIKE, who turned in yet another sound effort when beaten under a length into third at Chelmsford recently and seems sure to lay down another bold bid.

Despite travelling strongly, Mitre Peak found disappointingly little on her UK debut at Southwell, while Miro has had his fair share of chances now and is another who might not be one to trust entirely. With that in mind, it could be worth siding with TARTAN BUTE, who stepped up on the form of his debut run when finishing second at Lingfield and should continue to learn on the job.
