The well drawn Indian Valley continues in good form and can be expected to make her presence felt again but of more interest is WOOD FAIRY. Richard Fahey's mare hasn't got many miles on the clock for a 5-y-o but showed what she is capable of when running out a ready winner at Redcar when last seen in July and although she has clearly had her problems, the suspicion remains that she could still be very well treated. Of the rest, Ecossaise and Convention appeal most.

Flowing Cape was a winner in this grade here two starts ago and catches the eye along with another class dropper, Charlie Cool. The latter has been beaten on his last two starts in this grade, however, while the former has a wide draw to contend with tonight. Counceller has the ability to figure if coming back to his best form but BOLODENKA has proved a tough nut to crack at this level this summer and can be forgiven a below-par showing in a lady riders' handicap at Redcar last time.

The market could prove invaluable here with a few starting handicap life off lowly marks. However, at this stage, the safest option would appear to be ARTISTIC THREAD, who has taken a while to get the hang of things but looked much more the finished article when just touched off at Yarmouth earlier in the week. Compensation awaits for the Sir Mark Prescott-trained juvenile. Docs Legacy showed enough when third at Beverley two starts ago to suggest there might be a small race in him, while the likes of Complex and Hollywood All Star could improve.

Scamperdale holds obvious claims at this level but he was beaten in this grade last time and looks worth taking on with POTENTIALE. The 7-y-o has been running well in defeat recently and his most recent second to Green Wadi at Kempton suggested his turn is near. African Cheetah is more than capable if putting his best foot forward but his recent form inspired little confidence, albeit in stronger company.

FASCINATING made a bright start on the all-weather last week, justifying strong market support when an eased-down winner over this C&D. The handicapper has reacted with a 7lb rise but there should be plenty of further improvement in the expensively-bought son of Cape Cross and top weight is not expected to stop him. Golestan Palace and Joe Strummer are considered the main dangers but Nuba might be worth a look at longer odds with Hanagan booked for the first time.

FOREST EDGE was a very disappointing favourite at Goodwood earlier this month but the fact he's back out within a fortnight suggests nothing physical came to light and the 77-rated colt is probably worth another chance judged on his previous third in an 18-runner conditions event at Ascot. Half A Billion has a bit to find on the figures but shouldn't be ignored, likewise Ionwy, whose recent course second represented a career best.

This can go to the hugely consistent GRANDMAS DREAM, who bounced back from an uncharacteristically flat Kempton performance with a win at Brighton last time. The assessor has allotted her a 4lb higher mark, which doesn't seem too harsh, and she looks sure to mount another bold bid. Colourbearer has won his last three all-weather outings and did it in good style here last time so must be on the shortlist, along with Millyluvstobouggie, who has some respectable form in slightly better company.

HAADEETH appeared to really enjoy the return to all-weather action when scoring cosily over this C&D earlier in the month and although raised 5lb in the ratings, he is still really well handicapped on the pick of his form, and confidence is bound to be high. Mawjoodah has shown his best form at this track and arrives on the back of a staying-on third off the same mark just over a fortnight ago, while Lady Kildare is unexposed on Polytrack and has shown herself to be a tough little filly on turf this summer.
