Verdict
Kasino Des Mottes struck at Kempton before not being beaten far in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham's December meeting. The drop in trip is unlikely to hamper him, but LAGUNA BEACH is preferred. The form of his Hereford victory received a boost earlier in the week when the third came out and won at the same venue. The five-year-old has progressed with each run to date and shapes as though he has further progression to come. The Burren Man, Tobyshill and Uptown Dandy add further spice to what could be an informative contest.
Expert View Verdict
Kasino Des Mottes sets the standard following a big effort in a Grade 2 last time which is worth marking up as he got racing too early. The drop back in trip should suit but the form of that contest looks weak for the level so he could be vulnerable shouldering a penalty. UPTOWN DANDY wasn't made enough use of last time but showed a willing attitude when runner up to a classy rival over 2m3f. His debut effort has also worked out well and he could prove could value against the favourite over this longer trip getting weight. Laguna Beach is another who must shoulder a penalty after defeating a couple of next time out winners last time. He should have more to offer for top connections and rates a big threat.
