Verdict
SOMETHING won this last year by over two lengths and, racing off 2lb lower now, he has to warrant serious consideration. He has his first start for Liam Bailey after leaving Stuart Williams and showed signs of a return to form when third in a better race at Doncaster last month. Spartan Times has also won here, but that was off a 13lb lower figure and So Alex could be the bigger danger returning to turf after a deserved break.
Expert View Verdict
This is an incredibly tight little race with nothing between all five runners any one of which could easily win. Something won this last year but has been below form since switching back to turf and is not fancied to follow-up. Spartan Times has been in good order over hurdles and ran well on the Flat back in October, he should run well. Polygram is on a fair mark based on her recent form but has stamina questions to answer and So Alex is back from a break after running below form on his final start of 2025. That leaves SIR EDWARD LEAR who may have needed the run on his seasonal debut and is taken to return to form with that under his belt.
