Verdict

OPTIMISTIC is the obvious place to start here and must have a great chance on the evidence of his Southwell third and close-up second here last time. He's going in the right direction and can strike, but it won't be easy because course scorer Flicka's Girl should run her usual honest race and be bang there. Autumn Angel is noted too.

Expert View Verdict

A weak contest where it may be worth chancing TOP STAR who was far too free in front last time but had been in good form prior to that following a lay off. He is dangerously well treated on his old form so could spring a surprise at the expense of consistent course winner Flicka's Girl who has been in good form in similar events. Autumn Angel is also of interest at a bigger price with a top jockey booked. She failed to get home over 7f last time having gone off too quickly but the multiple C&D winner was in good form here at the start of the year.
