Verdict

Danehill Star's recent seconds at Lingfield and Southwell give him a big chance in a race of this nature, although marginal preference is for THE PUG. Micky Hammond's gelding caught the eye when fourth at Newcastle earlier in the month and should find this easier. Marinakis was a close third in classified company over C&D and is another likely to be in the mix.

Expert View Verdict

Last season's winner of the race DANEHILL STAR has found his form again in recent starts, winning over 10f at Lingfield back in February and finishing runner-up the last twice back at 8f. His mark remains fair and although drawn wide, he can get his head back in front returning to the longer distance. Marinakis has been in good form in classified events and there's no reason why he can't go well off this sort of mark in a lowly handicap while Man Is King ran to form himself in a classified event here last time and is one to consider also.
