This race usually goes the way of a useful type and there appears to be plenty of them in this year's renewal. SECRET INVESTOR was an impressive winner of an Irish point-to-point back in May and later that month these connections had to part with 175,000 pounds to secure the son of Kayf Tara. Reality Bites has a similar profile to the selection, having won his sole start in points and costing a six-figure sum, while Ridgeway Flyer beat some decent rivals in a Ludlow bumper back in March.

A small field but a highly-interesting contest nevertheless. That said, it will be disappointing if DIFFERENT GRAVEY does not make a winning debut over the larger obstacles. A winner of his sole start in points, the son of High Chaparral was an impressive winner of a valuable handicap hurdle here back in February and he was set a stiff task when fifth behind Thistlecrack at Aintree next time out. Brother Tedd has yet to show his best over fences just yet but he certainly has the ability to go well. Qualando also brings decent form to the table, while Hell's Kitchen remains thoroughly unexposed.

THOMAS CAMPBELL was an impressive winner of a competitive heat at Cheltenham last month and that form has been boosted with the second winning since. Resolution Bay also made a good impression when making a winning hurdles debut at the beginning of the month and he looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Criq Rock is surely better than what he showed at Chepstow when last seen, wile Banditry has been in very good form on the Flat in recent weeks.

The forecast rain might complicate things for a few of these who would be suited by the better ground that was experienced in the early part of the season, but one trainer who won't be complaining is Venetia Williams and THE CLOCK LEARY could be one to follow in treacherous conditions over the coming weeks. The eight-year-old has won fresh in the past and his record on soft or heavy ground makes for positive reading, as you would expect coming from last year's winning stable. Present Man and Wings Attract both look open to progression but could do with a sounder surface, with Go Conquer expected to provide the main threat.

Jonjo O'Neill's string are closely coming to hand and MUSTMEETALADY is entitled to plenty of respect on the bulk of the best of his 2015/16 form, when landing a strong handicap at Warwick in April and proving that any doubts about his stamina were completely unfounded. He had his excuses for a Southwell flop and should appreciate the forecast rainfall as his better efforts have come on soft ground. Horatio Hornblower ended last season with an impressive victory and could continue his progression, while Minella Daddy is a consistent type and unlike most of these does have the benefit of a couple of runs under his belt.

Bertimont and Le Rocher are both talented animals in their own right but haven't been seen on a racetrack for a combined 1608 days and it would be no surprise to see both be in dire need of their respective reappearances. The latter looked highly promising as a four-year-old and still has scope for improvement, but he would need to be cherry ripe to get the better of DRAYTONIAN, who arrives here after a progressive season that ended in an impressive handicap victory at Warwick. The son of King's Theatre has been handed an 8lb rise for that but could still be fairly handicapped off a mark of 130. Cyrname needs a market check on UK debut.
