ALEXANDRAKOLLONTAI won with plenty in hand over 6f at Hamilton last week and if the step up to 7f is no problem, she could take plenty of beating today despite a 6lb penalty. Mudaawem has shown glimmers of ability in maidens and he must be respected on his first foray into handicap company off a mark of 65. Masai King, Ingleby Symphony and Corton Lad are all worthy of consideration.

Red Cobra sets a fair standard on the form of his close second to Bond Club at Haydock last week and he should go well. Teetotal posted an improved effort when runner-up at Pontefract last time and he should not be overlooked but it could pay to side with the Mark Johnston trained newcomer, SHAGWA. She is closely related to some useful performers and would not have to be a superstar to make an impact on debut.

Sovereign Street is at the top of her game at present and although the handicapper is catching up with her, another big run is on the cards. Another Wise Kid has place claims and Shoshoni Wind should not be overlooked but in an open contest, the verdict goes to TAURUS TWINS. He is not the most consistent but he acts with cut in the ground and is just 1lb higher than his last winning mark.

Monsieur Pontaven took a step in the right direction when runner-up at Yarmouth last time and he has claims here on that form. Recent Catterick runner-up Whats For Pudding can also figure and Lord Franklin makes the shortlist but KOO AND THE GANG is preferred above all. He has been struggling of late but is very nicely handicapped on his best form and he will be a tough nut to crack here if putting his best foot forward.

CALAF had to battle to justify odds-on favouritism in a Haydock seller last month but he has not been with Brian Ellison long and there might be a little more to come now with that confidence boosting win under his belt. Act Your Shoe Size had to settle for second best in a Hamilton claimer last week before struggling in a Musselburgh handicap on Sunday but she is still worthy of consideration here, along with Muffin McLeay, who has been raised 8lb for his Ripon success last time.

Goodlukin Lucy returned to form with a good second to Star Kingdom at Hamilton last time and a reproduction of that effort would give her a big chance here as she is 2lb better off with Brian Ellison's representative. Goldmadchen is also respected but FLIPPING gets the verdict. He showed a little more at Ripon last time and he might now be able to take advantage of his handy mark with the excellent Jason Hart in the saddle.
