Water Iris didn't appear to relish softer going when third at Beverley, so the return to fast ground is likely to see her bounce back to form. That said, the form of TRIBAL ART's seventh at Kempton last November has worked out to be a decent contest and the son of Farhh can build on that experience. Cedar Rapids and Life On The Rocks are others worth considering based on what they have achieved to date.

PEARL OF QATAR won twice at this level, including over C&D in April, before posting a couple of solid efforts in class 4 company. A slow start scuppered her chance at Catterick last Friday and with no such incident in this easier race, she could regain the winning thread. Never In Paris and Jaariyah also drop in class, with the former fitted with first-time blinkers, and they both warrant respect. Avebury wears a hood for the first time and isn't out of it either.

TRICORN is unbeaten in two starts since the cheekpieces went on (worn again tonight) and won with enough in hand at Hamilton last time to suggest that he can defy a further 6lb rise in the ratings. He is proven here, as is Ayr Poet, who placed in class 4 company at Musselburgh latest and should give another good account with his sights lowered. Zeimaam sports first-time cheekpieces and is unlikely to be far away either.

MODULAR MAGIC ended last season with a couple of decent efforts on the all-weather at Newcastle and the return to fast ground on turf might unlock further improvement from the four-year-old. Tanasoq finished third over C&D last Wednesday and has the advantage of Harry Russell's 5lb claim, which is likely to make him competitive. A repeat of Major Pusey's recent display when fourth at Hamilton can see him enter the reckoning too.

With six of his eight wins coming here, TOMMY G loves this venue and bids for a hat-trick after a taking success over C&D last week. A 4lb penalty may not be enough to halt him, although Midnite Bride is expected to give him plenty to think about after making a bold bid for a three-timer of her own when a close-up third over the extended 1m at Beverley last month. Challet completes the shortlist.

MOTAWAAZY built on his narrow Thirsk defeat when scoring gamely over this trip at Catterick last Friday and despite having to shoulder a 5lb penalty for that success, he gets the vote to follow up. Tukhoom disappointed on soft ground most recently but was touched off on good to firm over 1m here the time before. Back on a faster surface, he is one to note, while past C&D scorer Lagenda also merits consideration.

Let Me Be can be forgiven his latest outing at Yarmouth when attempting to score for the fourth time in less than a month, and commands respect in his attempt to get back to winning ways. However, his stable companion THREE CASTLES shades the vote. He stayed on well over a shorter trip at this course last week and the step back up in trip, combined with first-time cheekpieces, may see him step forward. Justified completes the shortlist based on his recent fourth at Ripon.
