WETLANDS landed a bumper over this trip at Newcastle in the spring and built on his C&D third when runner-up over 2m3f at Carlisle last time, a performance which sets the form standard here. Deep Charm is entitled to build on a promising introduction in a NH Flat race here in October, when defeated by only a neck into third, and is nominated as the main danger ahead of Gordon Elliott's raider Lucky Fella.

FANCY FOUNDATIONS followed up his maiden hurdle success at Downpatrick when scoring over an extended 2m3f at Hereford. That latter victory came in a novice hurdle, under a penalty, and Gordon Elliott's charge is expected to repeat the feat here, even though he's conceding a stone all around on this occasion. Portstorm and Samurai Cracker are both capable of playing supporting roles in behind the selection.

UNOHU demonstrated his effectiveness at this venue when landing a 2m maiden hurdle with the minimum of fuss two weeks ago. If seeing out this longer trip, Tom Lacey's five-year-old could make light work of an opening mark of 122 now making his handicap debut. Rio Quinto has the ability needed to figure if match fit on his belated return, while River Frost won over fences off 2lb higher in August and looks fairly treated over timber.

EVITA DU MESNIL was touched off by a nose over 2m1f at Sedgefield in November and is expected to shake off a 5lb rise and mount another bold bid for Daragh Bourke. The returning Foxey is worth monitoring in the betting now having his first start since undergoing wind surgery, though the main danger may turn out to be Turtle Wars if he can build on his recent distance third on his reappearance at Hexham.

MAROWN has won twice here on the hurdles course and is expected to build on his chase debut third over the extended 2m here last month, a performance which suggested he's ready for a return to this trip. Seemorelights was ahead of him in second but isn't certain to confirm the form over this longer distance. Port Of Mars should be all the wiser for the experience gained on his fencing bow at Bangor and looks more of a threat than Rajapur.

BUDDHA SCHEME stays all day and appears to thrive when the mud is flying, as shown by back-to-back seconds at Hexham, including over four miles last time. Lucinda Russell's stayer is likely to relish this test and can get the better of Glittering Love, who is accustomed to winning over this track and trip, and gets to run off the same mark as when third here last time. Up Helly Aa King's winning form has come over shorter trips, but he has the ability if his stamina holds out.

NELLS SON hasn't been seen since February, but he created a very favourable impression when going down fighting at Doncaster on debut and has been gelded since. Nicky Richards' charge may be given most to think about by Fabuleux Du Clos, who wasn't beaten far at huge odds at Sedgefield last month, while Geonice ran a decent enough race on debut at Catterick to be considered here. Barbsboy is out of a bumper winner and a half-brother to a winning hurdler, so could prove the pick of the newcomers.
