Verdict

MACALLAN might not be the horse with the highest merit rating but he has been plagued with bad draws and could be better than that rating. He has the best of the barriers today and can finally get it right with Lyle Hewitson, who has stuck with him for a while. Similarly SOWETO HALL scored a good draw after bad ones. She has been holding form but a 4kg apprentice claim may give her an even bigger advantage. Watch out for VINODH'S BOY who has the form to win but races after a long layoff. He is carded to run earlier - watch him there first. DUCHESSOFCORNWALL is speedy over further and could prefer this trip. Both first-timers are well bred.

Verdict

KING CYRUS got closest over 1000m and had he got going sooner he could have won that race. He has done well enough over this distance to rate a winning chance in this line up. AUGUST RED has tried different things but is sticking to sprint trips now and it could be the way to go with him. He has shown potential and was not disgraced from a bad draw on the turf last time. LET'S GO FLY didn't run too badly on debut and won't need to improve much to worry the top fancies - watch for market support. MEXICAN CATDANCE is a bit better than his last few. He can earn from the best of the barriers.

Verdict

KIND JUDY showed fair potential over shorter but came back to form over 1600m, running on well into fourth in a testing race. She finally gets a try on the poly, having matured and could prove successful from a good gate. THEATRICAL MOMENT finished well behind the former when not showing her true form on that yielding turf track but back on poly she could turn that around in no uncertain terms. She is overdue on previous poly runs. DANCING SWORD also reserves her best for the synthetic and had a nice prep on the turf last time so rates a fair chance. CATALYST and CORSAGE aren't out of it either.

Verdict

HATTON HALL tired late after showing pace and obviously needed his last run badly. He is back on the Polytrack and should come on nicely. He has the pace to keep going in this field. NAVARINO BAY is getting the idea now and can only improve on an eye-catching poly debut. He will have more time to get into gear over this longer trip. SONJADOR is overdue and has drawn better than the above mentioned. The trick with him could be in racing fresh and he has gone closest with his current rider. BRUSH BACK can start to improve - he has blinkers fitted after a rest.

Verdict

CAPRICCIO suddenly trotted up on the poly and the yard may have hit the right recipe with her. She previously disappointed on this surface but now that she has won, she could show improvement and win again. NOBLE PRINCESS is knocking at the door and she looks ready for the longer trip. However, the above-mentioned have drawn a bit wide and along with GREEN ICE will need a good pace, being backmarkers. THRU' THE TREES has the pace to get away and if ready after a rest could take full advantage of her 4kg apprentice claim and do just that. JUST ONE MORE and SAN'S DANCER can upset from decent draws.

COOL RUNNINGS lived up to his name when back on this surface last time. He won well enough to suggest he can follow up and that race has already produced two subsequent winners. However, MAITLAND MAGIC will not make it easy for him or any of the other runners with his strong frontrunning ability. He went the wrong trip last time and wasn't disgraced, but back over 1400m should make them all run. Verdict

Both Donald Mcdonald and Farland have gone on to win more and it makes TWO OF US' form stand out. He has run well on both turf and poly and also races fresh so he can finally score for the second time in his career. BEDAZZLED JOKER looks a big threat. There was a good pace on last time and he won impressively from a wide draw. He has a good draw this time and there looks to be pace from horses like LORD WYLIE, ALL THE WAY UP, HIGH GREEN and SPIRIT OF MY FATE, among others.
