The only winner in the line-up, DOCS LEGACY, is fancied to deliver the goods again. Richard Fahey's charge won nicely over an extended 1m on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last week and his only previously start on soft ground ended with a creditable placed effort at Beverley in August. Dubious Escapade keeps edging closer to the target and has solid claims in this, while Joshua The First won't mind the likely testing conditions.

A chance is taken on the Irish challenger MAMA SOX. She hasn't been the most consistent in six starts but, if recapturing the sort of form which saw her finish fifth in a valuable sales race on soft ground at Fairyhouse in September last year, she could prove difficult to beat. Supreme Seductress faces her easiest assignment yet and should figure prominently if going through the mud, while Avison also looks capable of mounting a strong challenge.

Jim Goldie won this race 12 months ago and he appears to have another big chance with LITTLE BOOK. She shaped as though stepping back up in trip would help when third on her debut for this stable over an extended 7f here last month and the handicapper has kindly dropped her 1lb. Aerodynamic was much improved at Newcastle latest and warrants respect currently 21lb lower than his last winning mark, while Funky Munky certainly isn't out of it either.

Persian Herald doesn't mind testing underfoot conditions and can mount a bold bid here if in the same mood as when runner-up at Salisbury last time, but NEUTRAFA edges the vote. John Mackie's filly is the least exposed member of this line-up with just four starts under her belt and she shaped as though stepping up in trip would help when touched off over 1m at Musselburgh some five weeks ago (third has won twice since). Goldenveil looks next best.

Hat-trick seeking Scrapper Smith warrants respect despite a further 2lb rise in the handicap for his most recent victory here over 1m2f last month, but slight preference is for the Irish raider STAR LINKS. He has been knocking on the door in some competitive handicaps on bottomless ground recently and his stable has landed a touch or two here in the past. Swiftly Done has been running consistently well of late and should be in the thick of things again.

Things could fall perfectly into place here for PERTEMPS NETWORKS. Mick Easterby's charge has improved significantly throughout this year and he will prove difficult to peg back today if getting his own way out in front. Sphinx returned to form over an extended 2m1f here the last day and he should run well under the champion jockey in this, while Chookie Hamilton wouldn't be without a chance if finding top gear.

Hunting Tower just got the better of First Rock on his latest public appearance at Newcastle last month and should be able to confirm the placings today, but LADY BLUESKY looks the most likely. A winner at this meeting last year, she has run well on several occasions since (including two hurdle wins) and has proven form in testing conditions. River Dragon, most effective on soft ground, could be dangerous to dismiss.
