ROUND TOM could hardly have been more impressive when scoring by 15 lengths at Worcester on his chasing debut. Although he was well held over timber this month and is up in class today, he should take all the beating returned to fences. The danger could be Cloudy Too, still going well on his chasing debut at Carlisle when unseating his rider four out, but chances might also be given to Helpston, Downward Spiral and Tiptoeaway.

This should go the way of ALASI, second twice in this grade. She hasn't won since completing a double at the end of 2009 but has been placed in a Grade 2 event since and should prove too strong for these rivals. Whoops A Daisy completed a hat-trick in novice company last season but was well held in this grade latest and needs to improve while Dance For Julie and Risaala have claims if running to their best.

Fair Along has won the last two runnings of this race but has been chasing more recently. What A Friend was a Grade 1 winner last year but has struggled since. The Gordon Elliott pair, Russian War and CARLITO BRIGANTE, could dominate this. The former has a fine record over timber but his stablemate, a Grade 3 winner at the Cheltenham Festival, was third in the Grade 1 World Series Hurdle at Punchestown and is the class act in this field.

In a cracking renewal of this top chase, it might pay to side with last year's winner NACARAT. He ran no sort of race last time at Punchestown but his pillar-to-post success before that in a Grade 1 chase at Aintree suggests that if he gets to the front early again, he could take all the catching. The exciting Time For Rupert might prove the biggest threat but it's hard to rule out Diamond Harry and Poquelin.

It's hard to oppose the claims here of SMOKEY OAKEY, a useful sort on the Flat who broke his duck over hurdles at Aintree on his third run over jumps. This is slightly tougher but he was a very easy winner that day and can follow up. Proud Times has finished second in his last three starts over timber and might occupy the same position again but Zaplamation, No Planning and Tindaro are all running well and should be thereabouts.

Havingotascoobydo won comfortably on his chasing debut at Ffos Las but his jumping wasn't foot-perfect and next time out he fell at the sixth. With his jumping a worry, it might pay to side with SEIGNEUR DES BOIS. It's taken a while for him to get the hang of the chasing game but he ended last season in fine style, winning at Southwell, and looks a safer bet. Chargen has plenty to find on his form to date.

In a wide-open affair, it's worth giving another chance to DHAAFER, who might have been over the top when a well-held fifth at Ascot in April when last sighted. His third in a Grade 3 hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, however, looks the best form on offer here and he would take all the beating if resuming in similar form. Sir Tamburlane could prove the danger if at his best but chances could also be given to Moghaayer and Lawgiver.
