GOLD LINK was entitled to need his reappearance outing at Newton Abbot last time and after tying up in the heavy ground late on over that 2m2f trip, better is expected from Emma Lavelle's charge now he drops back to 2m. Mercutio Rock should be all the wiser for the experience gained when fourth on debut here last month and can fight it out with Cheng Gong and Evan Williams' newcomer, The Boat, for the silver medal.

ANTUNES should be all the wiser for the experience gained on his fencing bow at Bangor last time and although other rivals may potentially be better treated than him on these terms, his match fitness may just give him an edge. Kim Bailey's new recruit I Can't Explain was placed in a Listed hurdle two seasons ago but has only raced once since ahead of his chase debut this afternoon, while Lieutenant Rocco, another debuting over the larger obstacles and having his first start for a new stable, has been absent since pulling up in last season's Albert Bartlett.

Silent Steps has successful C&D form in the book and merits a market check as she's been absent since landing back-to-back victories at Southwell in March. The best of the remainder may be No No Juliet, who picked up the silver medal off this mark when last sighted at Hereford in the spring.

Piggy Winkle did the job nicely on just his second handicap start at Market Rasen and should remain competitive off this 5lb higher mark, while Innerpickle also merits consideration following a string of solid win and placed efforts. However, CYCLOP fairly bolted up over this trip on the chase course here recently and he could prove difficult to beat switching back to hurdles off a 5lb lower mark.

CYCLOP looked rejuvenated when making all from a higher mark over fences at this track 11 days ago and, if he can get close to replicating that form back over the smaller obstacles, he should take all the beating. His biggest dangers could prove to be the unexposed Eclair D'Ainay and Casa Tall, who has undergone wind surgery since his latest outing 555 days ago. CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER, who impressed at Ayr on his Rules debut before bumping into the talented Ocean Wind when third in a Newbury Listed event last season, was headed late on when second at Stratford on his hurdles debut last month. He was sent off a well-backed favourite on that occasion and his cause wasn't helped by a blunder at the second-last obstacle, but the five-year-old possesses plenty of ability and the move up in trip could suit here. Champagne Rhythm, not disgraced when fifth in a bumper here last month, picked up a silver medal when jumping hurdles for the first time at Ffos Las and could relish the testing conditions. Franco D'aunou faded late at Hereford on his debut for Venetia Williams but has plenty of experience under his belt from his time in France and is another who won't mind the forecast going.

CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER looked talented in bumpers and, although beaten at odds on, didn't do much wrong at Stratford on hurdling bow. He's taken to go one better in comfortable fashion despite the presence of Champagne Rhythm and Franco d'Aunou, who also have potential.
