MEGAN LILY was by no means disgraced in Listed company at Naas last time, despite only beating a couple of rivals home, and her debut second at York is the best form on offer. The daughter of Dragon Pulse has fired out of the gates in both starts thus far, so hopefully box eight won't pose any problems, and she could make it third time lucky. Her stablemate Atteq is better positioned in stall two and having cost 310,000gns, connections will be hopeful of a big run, while Love Oasis and Rosabelle are others to keep an eye on.

Andrew Balding saddled the winner of this race 12 months ago and he appears to have another cracking chance with PREDETERMINED this time around. David Probert's mount has displayed a fair level of ability in both starts thus far and, providing she can handle the undulations of this track, a bold bid looks assured. The drop in both trip and grade should see Dark Intention bounce back to form, while Dr Marwan Koukash's Billy Slater cannot be ruled out either.

ARCANADA shades the verdict in what looks a fiercely competitive handicap. He produced a career-best performance when fourth (of 28) in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot last week and looks sure to mount a bold bid returning to the venue where he won his maiden. Richard Fahey saddles two interesting runners, particularly Gallipoli who has caught the eye finishing fast over 6f the last twice, while Dawaa has gone unpunished for her York second and merits consideration representing the stable that won this race 12 months ago.

MAN LOOK appears to have improved again from three to four years judged on two pleasing efforts at Bath this season and Andrew Balding's charge can go from strength to strength. The son of Nayef justified favouritism in no uncertain terms a fortnight ago and although he has gone up to a career-high mark of 77 courtesy of a 10lb rise, he is lightly raced and could have more to offer. The consistent Distant High and Marengo are others to consider.

BLITHE SPIRIT won this corresponding handicap 12 months ago off a 2lb lower mark and Eric Alston's course specialist can repeat the dose. Boasting a decent draw in stall five, Jason Hart can be positive on the daughter of Byron and there was a lot to like about her effort in the Epsom Dash three weeks ago. Snap Shots regained the winning thread at Haydock in good style latest and heads the list of dangers from Lexi's Hero.

KING CRIMSON ran a game race from the front at Salisbury last time and lost little in defeat after finishing a neck second. Mick Channon's charge has been raised 1lb since but may be able to gain compensation from a good draw. Bondi Beach Boy could keep the selection company on the front end and similarly run well from stall two, while C&D winner Ballesteros commands plenty of respect on the back of his recent near-miss here over 6f.

ALWAYS RESOLUTE was denied a hat-trick when third over 1m5f at Newmarket last time but is expected to improve on that effort now stepped up in trip on the same mark. Feared most is Be My Sea, who struck over 2m at Kempton last time and is expected to remain competitive off 3lb higher now switching surface. David Pipe's Perspicace is also interesting now back on the level off a mark of 77.
