Around 4 lengths separated Purple Sage and Lindy Hop when second and sixth respectively at Lingfield latest but the latter was making her racecourse debut that day and they could tough to split here. Of more appeal, however, is PERSIAN MEMORIES who showed the benefit of her debut experience when picking up the bronze medal in a hot maiden over this trip at Goodwood, form which has worked out very well with the 6th, 7th, 11th and 14th all winning since. There could be more to come and this doesn't look as tough.

A wide open contest but there is plenty to like about LUCKY NUMBER who is getting the hang of things now and accounted for three subsequent winners when staying on well to land a Thirsk maiden event last month. The progressive youngster looks well treated on his handicap bow, unlike Aldermoor and Global City but they both clearly possess plenty of ability. Doughnut is worthy of consideration back over the C&D where she won well on her penultimate outing, while handicap debutant Lucky Art is hard to rule out as he remains on an upward curve.

SURREALISM, a 450,000gns daughter of Pivotal, caught the eye staying on late from off the pace on her debut over this trip at Pontefract and looked like she will have learnt plenty from the experience. She could face stiff competition from Filigree Lace who flopped on her handicap debut over 7f at Newmarket but had previously showed ability well in 1m maiden events and shaped as though this sterner test of stamina would be right up her street. Hamalka was denied a C&D by the stewards last month and should be thereabouts again, as may Emirates Lady and Turfwolke.

Bazergan returned from a 10-month lay-off with a convincing victory in a fair maiden over this trip at Salisbury last month and could have plenty more to offer today, but the assessor has done him no favours on his handicap bow and the top weight may have to play second fiddle to MY AUNT FANNY. Andrew Balding's filly is 8lb higher than when completing a C&D double in July but clearly loves it here and represents the yard that now this race last year. Recent C&D runner-up Nightjar and Deep Winter, who has won four of her last five starts, are obvious dangers.

KINGS POINT found one too good when bidding for a double at Ayr last week and although a further 2lb rise won't help, his stall one draw will and he has the early pace to make that count all today. The selection's stablemate, Heywood, has gone up 5lb for a narrow C&D defeat but he is another that can go again from a favourable draw. Course winner Fathsta appears to be running into form, as does Kay Es Jay who is 2lb higher than when touched off at Salisbury latest.

Haajes is no forlorn hope under a 6lb penalty for his Hamilton success but he has done all his winning over the minimum trip. Fellow last time out winners Makshoof and Namir have no margin for error after the handicapper had his say, while the assessor appeared to have caught up with Earlsmedic when bidding for a four-timer latest and the tentative vote goes to WYATT EARP. Richard Fahey's inmate got within a length of landing a similar event at Newmarket a week ago and has been drawn one from the rail this afternoon.

BLIMEY O'RILEY is progressing nicely now and followed up his maiden success with sufficient ease at Ripon last month to suggest a 5lb rise won't be enough to prevent him completing the hat-trick, especially with this extra two furlongs expected to suit. Penang Cinta has been placed off this mark on his last three starts but the selection may be given most to think about by Sir Sandicliffe, now 3lb lower than when second (soundly beaten) over 2m here a fortnight ago.
