Air Vice Marshal, Restive, Saafarr, Juliette Fair and Only Mine are all interesting newcomers, especially the first mentioned who cost a whopping $2,200,000 and represents the stable who won this contest in 2011 and 2012, but it could pay to side the experience of ROCKAWAY VALLEY. He made a debut full of promise when a neck second over this C&D and normal improvement will make him tough to beat. Stamp Hill also displayed a fair level of ability on his introduction at Leopardstown and is certainly not out of this either.

COMPASS HILL hasn't been seen since finishing a good second to subsequent 1000 Guineas runner-up Lucida on his debut at Naas in August, form which is by far the best on offer here. If he is ready to roll on his return from a layoff he will take the world of beating here. Fort Del Oro went into the notebook after going close at the Curragh on her first outing and she is feared most, while I Will Excel and Knockmaole Boy are next best.

BATTLEROFTHEBOYNE has bagged three of his four career victories at this venue and looked on good terms with himself when scoring at Navan last month. A subsequent 7lb rise looks workable and he's expected to show up well from a high draw. Doonard Prince has been raised 4lb for scoring over this trip at Naas in April but is effective under these conditions and is unlikely to be far away. Enter The Red, runner-up at Cork off 2lb lower latest, looks best of the rest.

Iveagh Gardens sets the form standard with her impressive defeat of Found in a 7f Group 3 here and she is a C&D winner. She prefers conditions to be pretty testing, however, and the ground may be against her here, so preference is for NEWSLETTER. Ken Condon's unexposed filly receives plenty of weight from Iveagh Gardens and shaped like there could be plenty more to come when landing a Listed event over this trip at Nottingham last month. Stormfly is an obvious contender on the back of a good showing in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, but the return to sprinting isn't forced to suit.

It's hard to escape the claims of PARISH HALL, who is a force to be reckoned with at this level. He came up short in a strong renewal of the Tattersalls Gold Cup on his latest outing but ought to take the world of beating here. Postulation looks the chief threat and Dermot Weld's charge remains open to plenty of progress on just his eighth career start. Chopin is worth considering in the first-time blinkers, while formerly high-class French horse Manndawi is a fascinating contender on his debut for Ed Dunlop.

DUCA VALENTINOIS finished behind Liffey View (second) when fifth over the extended 1m at Killarney two runs ago but built on that effort by scoring by a neck over C&D when last sighted and he's expected to get the better of Liffey View this time around. Shannon Soul (fifth), Xebec (sixth) and Ringside Humour (eighth) all finished behind the selection here last month, with the latter, drawn wide in a large field that day, expected to fare best of that contingent and build on his subsequent 1m victory at Gowran.

Game Set Dash ran a another encouraging race at Dundalk and although disappointing favourite backers on that occasion, he remains a solid proposition and should make his presence felt, a comment that also applies to Navan runner-up Torcedor who appears to have stamina in spades. However, neither set an insurmountable standard and it might worth chancing Ballydoyle newcomer SHERLOCK HOLMES, a beautifully-bred colt who holds an entry in the Irish Derby. Fellow debutant Tapering is another representing powerful connections and the market could prove a useful guide as to what is expected of both.
