ANTILOPE DU SEUIL has taken a while to find her feet since joining Gordon Elliott, but is now showing what she is capable of and landed a Perth brace by backing up a 2m4f win over half a mile further. On the same card, Solway Dandy completed a course double of his own, a day later than Wind Of Hope beat Glacial Rock in a maiden here. All merit serious consideration in a competitive opener.

Prior to his third at Down Royal, RUSSIAN REGENT had taken turns with Mister First to come out on top in battles here and he is 5lb better off with his compatriot for going down three and a half lengths over course and distance. That form can be reversed. Bearly Legal's winning run came to an end at Bangor but he is 7lb lower now. Strongpoint, Habbie Simpson and Gleann Na Ndochais enter the reckoning as well.

Broughtons Bandit is an obvious player if this doesn't come too soon after Friday night's Downpatrick second, but he is passed over in favour of QUEST MAGIC, who put a Sedgefield fall behind him when second at Cartmel and is fancied to go one better off a 3lb higher mark. Seventeen Black has gone up 8lb for being beaten at Hexham, but he was clear of the third so it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that he can remain competitive.

Former classy Flat performer SEA LORD proved just as good over hurdles and was last seen performing really well for second off a mark of 146 at Aintree. Providing he takes to fences, he will be much too good. Owen Na View appears flattered by his chasing figure of 135 but is still the primary danger, with Swantykay the pick of the remainder.

5

16:25 Perth (Class 2) (5YO plus)

Pentland Land Rover Perth Gold Cup Handicap Chase (For The City Of Perth Gold Cup)

ANAY TURGE is going from strength to strength and completed a hat-trick, which included a Grade 2 Cheltenham success, at Market Rasen. Off 5lb higher, this requires more of him but he must be stuck with until beaten. Champion Court bounced back to form at Kempton and is sure to give his supporters another bold sight. Big Casino did it well at Haydock, and Aerial and Kilbree Kid are just two others to consider in a competitive race that is worthy of the prize money on offer.

6

16:55 Perth (Class 4) (4YO plus)

Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer Handicap Hurdle

JUST AWAKE had yet to throw down his challenge when hitting the deck over fences at Kelso but looked ahead of the handicapper at this venue previously and is given another chance off a lower rating in this sphere. Urban Kode was better with the visor back on here, and Topper Thornton is also shortlist material following his decent fourth in a Punchestown maiden. Be Seeing You won at Downpatrick on Friday night so is another lively candidate.

17:30 Perth (Class 6) (4YO to 6YO)

Carinena was well backed when only mustering fifth at Wetherby on her introduction in November, but her absence since tips the balance in favour of SCARLETT PEAK. Mick Easterby's gelding was particularly unfancied on his debut at Market Rasen, but acquitted himself well to finish third and there could be more to come. Chitu struggled in a Grade 2 at Aintree, but had previously gone close at Catterick and looks a live threat to all.
