Kevin Manning prefers Bunairgead to stablemate Mac Lir, who can be forgiven his Kilbeggan debut after the saddled had slipped after 2f, and the Dundalk third won't be without her supporters following that pleasing effort on the all-weather. Aidan O'Brien also launches two arrows at the opener and, while the market is expected to deliver further clues as to chance of League Of Nations on his racecourse debut, preference is for MAGICIAN. The Galileo colt left a moderate Leopardstown debut behind when a close-up second at Dundalk last month and he's taken to go one better going up to 1m for the first time.

The piece of form to focus on here appears to be the course Group 3 contested over 7f last month in which RAWAAQ (second), had Uleavemebreathless (third) and Wholelotofrosie (fifth) behind. The selection stayed on at the one-pace in the closing stages that day and very much hinted that she'd be worth a try over 1m next time out. The re-opposing third looks the main danger, although if there is one that could put the cat amongst the pigeons, it could be Seolan, an impressive winner on bottomless ground in maiden company at Listowel.

MAAREK has been in fine form this season and he sets a clear standard for the others to aim at. A reproduction of his Ayr Gold Cup third last month would make him the one to beat. Both Custom Cut and Lady Wingshot would probably appreciate another furlong but they could be the ones to ask most questions of the selection although Colour Of Love has been in good heart of late and she has claims with the form of her latest York second looking strong.

There are doubts over many of these for one reason or another and although KORBOUS is yet to encounter ground this slow, he gets the vote now returning from a 7f debut success at Gowran in May. Richard Brabazon's charge is expected to improve for this extra furlong and in Shane Gray, he has one of the strongest riders in the race on his back. Cnocan Diva may ideally prefer better ground but is at least competitively weighted and knows how to get her head in front. Jpevie, consistent but restricted to only one handicap run to date, has frame claims.

CHAMONIX has won impressively in Listed company over 1m4f at Galway and Listowel on his last two outings and he looks sure to take plenty of beating again this afternoon. Demurely has finished runner-up to him on two occasions and second spot is probably the best she can hope for here. Minsk finished behind the aforementioned pair at Listowel last time but he should strip fitter this time around and could pose the main threat to the selection before a return to hurdles beckons for him.

Winner of the November handicap at Leopardstown off 2lb lower last term, Hidden Universe warrants a market check upon his return from a 343-day break. However, there are a whole host of viable alternatives who have the benefit of a recent run to their name. Seventh Sign has been a revelation since the blinkers went on and arrives here on a four timer and, like impressive Galway scorer Voleuse De Coeurs, warrants plenty of respect. Preference, however, is for 134-rated hurdler MISSUNITED, who has thrived on the level over shorter this term and looks feasibly treated off 90 now stepping back up in distance.

John Oxx has saddled the last couple of winners of this contest and is taken to complete the hat-trick today courtesy of IF OR WHEN. The daughter of Dylan Thomas is certainly bred to have plenty of ability (distantly related to the high-class St Nicholas Abbey) and Johnny Murtagh has been booked to do the steering. Stablemate Kalaroa also merits consideration wearing the famous Aga Khan silks, while Quick Glimpse unquestionably has the best form in the book and is likely to give it a good go from the front end.
