Bellflower Boy was in terrific form towards the end of last year but he was hit hard by the handicapper and he might find life tougher now. Firm Order has been raised 6lb for his Sandown success last month but he could go well once more, along with Huntingdon 3m2f scorer Premier Des Marais. However, a chance is taken on MOGHAAYER who has been below par on his two latest outings but will appreciate the better ground today and he can go close if bouncing back to form.

STEPTOE has not shown a great deal in this three runs over hurdles to date but he could prove capable of much better now tackling handicaps for the first time off a mark of just 85. Jaques Vert has been performing with credit in handicaps and he should be thereabouts but the handicapper probably has him about right at the moment. Donny Briggs is open to some improvement and he could go well with Coeur De Fou also respected for his in-form yard.

OGEE, a Grade 1 winner over hurdles at Aintree in 2009, relishes a sound surface and although he was not at his best on his only run of the season so far at Cheltenham back in November, better can be expected today. Merigo is being targeted at the Grand National and he will certainly not want for stamina today but he does look handicapped to the hilt now. Minella Four Star, Character Building and Meanus Dandy all merit consideration in a highly competitive contest.

VERTIGE DORE was beaten in a 'jumpers' bumper' on the all-weather at Kempton last time but he had previously run out an impressive winner on his hurdling debut at Bangor and he is likely to prove tough to beat today. The consistent Rio Gael is likely to be on the premises, along with Brother Bob who was knocking on the door when last seen. Lidar is becoming frustrating but it is too early to write him off.

A highly competitive bumper and there are plenty of interesting contenders. Close House got off the mark at Ayr last time and he looks sure to be on the premises today. Taunton winner Hes Our Lad is also respected, along with D'Gigi and Holme Rose. However, the one to beat could be MONTBAZON who finished runner-up to the well-touted Cheltenian on his debut at Kempton and is entitled to improve with that experience under his belt.

This looks like a perfect opportunity for LAKE LEGEND. He got off the mark over fences over 3m at Taunton last month and a reproduction of that effort would probably make him tough to beat here. Springfield Raki is generally consistent and, although he has a bit to find with the selection, he is most likely to benefit should Alan King's representative fluff his lines. Home She Goes can get the better of Indian Pipe Dream for third.

Pret A Thou (has a preferred engagement at Newbury today) completed a double in good style last month and has to be considered in his current form, but he could be vulnerable off a 7lb higher mark and on quicker ground today. Moon Over Miami has been running well in defeat of late and should be thereabouts again but the preference is for ELITE LAND, who has gone up 7lb in the ratings for scoring over 2m at Musselburgh last month but did the job in good style and the form looks pretty solid.
