FREEZE FRAME appeared to be struggling when falling at Kilbeggan last time but could go close if recapturing the form shown when second here on her hurdling debut last month. Royal Approval has been knocking on the door, while Buoni Island has been placed on several occasions but has become expensive to follow.

Last month's course winner SANGENESIUS may be on the upgrade and is narrowly preferred to Sanadja in a race that may be dominated by the top weights. Andijan appears to have the beating of Cousin Kizzy on Down Royal running in June but has been beaten twice since and probably has place prospects at best.

Greenfort Brave showed his first worthwhile form at Sedgefield last month but looks very one-paced and may struggle to beat LANAKEN. The latter found 3m too far at Roscommon last time having won well at Down Royal earlier. Quizzical won at Sedgefield last month but is 4lbs higher here and Breffni Flyer looks a better bet at the weights.

Though Keith Maher gets on well with Always On Top, the partnership may struggle to see out this trip and preference is for LUCKAHOCKA who was staying on (having been given plenty to do) over 1m4f at Gowran last time. Flashy Beau usually runs his race but may just be in the handicapper's grip at present, while Long Journey appears to be an out-and-out stayer.

Freud Bacon is very exposed and flopped when tried in handicap company last time but there are possibilities about Dermot Weld's bumper winner Stolen Light on his Flat debut. The vote, though, goes to SINNIYA who was just caught over a longer trip at Wexford two runs ago and can outstay her less-consistent rivals in this.

STYLIST can be forgiven her latest effort at Tralee (hampered and eased) and is better judged on her close-up third at Roscommon previously. She's likely to be out of trouble at the head of affairs here, which may be an advantage. Goose Island's recent form is difficult to knock but she's now 31lbs higher than when her winning run began, while River Nurey is still chasing his first win.

17:30 Downpatrick (NI) (4YO plus)

Stables Bar & Restaurant (Pro-am) Flat Race

PORTALON was only beaten half-a-length at Kilbeggan last week and appears to have the best form on offer here, though he may be vulnerable to a less-exposed type like How Art Thou or stablemate Moscott. Junior Jurasic is back in bumpers after a fair run over hurdles at Galway and also warrants respect.
